FAT LOSS MYTHS 101 - "EATING FAT WILL MAKE YOU FAT"
All to often I hear these statements:
"You eat avocado? Isn't that really high in calories though?"
"I try to avoid nuts and but butter because they are really high in fat"
I understand why people think this way, because their is a huge stigma around the word "fat". Food marketing also has a lot to due with this negative connotation with the word fat. All the "fat-free" foods in the supermarket, tricking people into thinking they are making the healthier choice.
Read nutrition labels, fat is what gives good flavor. Therefore when fat is taken out of food they have to replace it with sugar and/or chemicals in order to keep the taste. Next time you are in the grocery store take a look at the nutrition label of a fat-free food item and the check out the sugar content. Then compare that will the full fat version and you will see what I'm talking about.
Don't be afraid of fat! Eating good fats will actually keep you feeling full, provide your body with so many essential nutrients, annnnnnd help your body burn fat!!
