That chorizo skillet life. I actually didn’t have to pay EXTRA for all of that lovely avocado that’s shown on my plate. I like my fried eggs over medium with copious amounts of tabasco sauce. I love sourdough toast too, with ample butter. Breakfast is probably my fave meal of the day. Also, why am I sharing so much? I drank some strong Italian espresso this morning, feels like I just snorted a line of cocaine. Not that I know what that feels like ♂️. Anyway, carry on minions. .
My room was in the worst shape, by far. The walls caved in instead of out, so it was practically impossible to get to anything. I was determined to dig out this one corner of my room, where all my jewelry was that I had collected over the years from my grandmothers, aunts, and cousins on both sides of my family. After an hour of digging and very little luck finding anything salvageable, I found my prayer box my mom gave me when I graduated. It had shattered. I felt my eyes get hot. All those prayers and this is what we get? But then I found the only two “large” pieces of the box that were left.
I may not understand “why” now, I may not understand “why” ever, but I know that prayer, family, friends, community, and lots of line dancing will help get me through these times.
Don’t forget the power of prayer. #thomasfire#ventura#venturastrong#havefaith
When your dada is away for over 2 weeks, doing his job on the #thomasfire and @robloweofficial shows up at base camp and takes their minds off being away from their loved ones, their exhaustion, their tired muscles, their red eyes, their longing for a mattress, their desire for a hug from their people...it’s the small things. #santabarbara#ventura#venturacounty
