Big family, tiny cottage for a house...
I work so much at home anymore and I need an official "work space". Looking for ideas now to capitalize on a small space with as much storage as possible. (I will also welcome some elbow grease lol)
We love our VOLUNTEERS!! We appreciate their desire to serve and want to make the VOLUNTEERING experience even more rewarding.
So, we recently conducted a survey with our volunteers. We gleaned valuable insights about how to improve the volunteering experience. We also learned some encouraging facts about them.
Based on the survey, we recognized that three words describe our volunteers.
When asked how their activities went, 94% of our volunteers said it went well. They were so satisfied that 90% said they wanted to come back and volunteer again. “It’s a great way to show my appreciation for how many people have helped me throughout my life,” a volunteer shared recently" @oofficial_nazb
Volunteers gain the satisfaction of personally making a difference. “I volunteer because I’ve been looking for ways to get involved in the community and I feel like I’m personally helping… I’m personally doing something,” shared @CHAYILOgechi 2. Committed
Not only are our volunteers satisfied, but they also catch the vision of GIRL HUB AFRICA. They have a commitment to GHA's goals and want to volunteer in others ways.
There are many ways for people of all ages to get involved at GHA and make a difference.
Our volunteers are young! The largest age group among our volunteers is the millennials, those born between 1981 and 2002. This group made up 46% of our volunteers.
Yet our volunteers vary widely in age. At GHA, no one is too young or too old to make a difference in the lives of others. Just ask EKE CHINYERE, who is volunteering at 46.
One volunteer and her daughter wanted to give back to the community, so they came to the GIRL HUB AFRICA VOLUNTEERS NETWORK.
She shared, “My daughter wants to help people in need, but she’s 15 years old, there aren’t many opportunities for children to volunteer.” And she was surprised to see that we had a CHILDREN VOLUNTEERS PACKAGE too Wouldn't you want to be part of us? stay tunned as we re-open registration for LAGOS CHAPTER Next week.
1000 young people are about to take to the streets of Melbourne for the Youth Choose Climate Justice March. Because this generation will not wait for an end to fossil fuels and a just transition to 100% renewable energy. We are marching to shift the power TODAY. Stay tuned.
WARNING: Turn down volume if you have cats in the room! Cat and kitten intake at the new Dekalb County Animal Services shelter. I transported a kitten found at the old shelter to the new one (little black one, but not the loud mouth!).
I took a million pictures and videos today, so get ready for #shelterpet overload! Of course if everyone would #spayandneuter there wouldn't be a need for #animalshelters, now would there? This is at the old #DekalbCountyAnimalServices shelter today. This dog is Stella, and yes, I did my best Marlon Brando in "A Streetcar Named Desire" impersonation, and called her, STELLAAAAAA! She is SO affectionate! #adoptStella for free through July! Includes vaccinations, spay and microchip.
#Mydiscoverylist#30 Volunteer AbroadFull video linked in bio Children's Day in China. So at the school, we had to come up with games to play with the kids on the spot... so I started with red light green light, but the kids just attacked me every time I said green light. Lol I didn't need these kids getting hurt so I changed to this monkey see monkey do dance game, they liked that! I tired myself out dropping it low under that hot sun but it was so worth it! I quickly realized that my movements needed to be extremely exaggerated for them to all get it, that was a lot of kids, (hence the corny teacher dance.) Question... Did I get these babies to cabbage patch, boogie woogie, and get down? Why yes, apparently I did...
