We’d like to take a minute and introduce you to one of the newest of our many important teams in the rescue: the Events Committee! From left to right, Chelsea, Jessica (our Executive Director who only tagged along for fun so ignore her - hehe), Samantha, Jill and Krystal.
Earlier this year, Samantha took on the role of Events Coordinator temporarily. She immediately took on some large and quickly upcoming events to ensure they were successful. The events area of the rescue was somewhere we had struggled quite often, and the role was typically only filled on an as-needed basis. Much to our delight, once Sam got her footing, she took this role on permanently, and quickly began creating something that worked well and efficiently for the rescue.
Sam created and implemented the Events Committee we have today. Sam and her committee sacrificed so many hours planning, organizing and volunteering this year. Because of this, it was the most successful year in fundraising for MUR to date! While we still are continually in need of monetary donations and fundraisers to keep our bills down and be able to help more dogs, the efforts of these ladies has certainly paid off and created more opportunity for the rescue this year than there ever has been.
We thought these ladies deserved a shout-out for their unbelievably hard work this year, now that they wrapped up their final event of 2017 this past weekend. We know this work can be crazy and stressful, and wanted to you to know how much of an amazing addition you have made to the team. We would also like to recognize all of our wonderful volunteers who assisted the Events Committee at fundraisers, events and for miscellaneous ticket sales.
