I am Minerva's least favorite human right now because I bandaged her feeties and got her all greasy with antibiotic cream. So, Jason made her critical care and is grooming the grease out of her fur.
Minerva came to us last November from a really bad hoarding situation. She has pretty severe dental disease, and lung and cornea scarring from the build-up of ammonia. She also had terrible bumble foot when she got here and we have been fighting to get her feet healed ever since.
It's a huge challenge though because even in decent conditions bumblefoot is hard to treat. It's even more difficult with Minerva though because she lived so long in such squalor she doesn't always remember she can move out of the place she peed so she will just stand in it. She lives in our bedroom and sleeps in our bed every night, so she has plenty of space to move now but she just doesn't always remember.
Anyway, after months of taking less extreme approaches I think she's just going to have to try to deal with bandages on her feet until they heal. Think good thoughts for her! #chinchilla#love#rescue#bumblefoot
Teddy with his banana Swipe to see the flower that has grown in one of the plant pots outside. Good morning to you all, I hope you are having a great weekend! Today, I'm going to purchase some flower seeds for the plant pots outside where my past hamsters are buried. Tiny is buried with Panda. I will show a post later of Panda if you haven't seen what she looked like. If you go on my Instagram page and go down, you will see A photo of her because I've posted her before. I've got all of my past hamsters on my Instagram. Panda is the shiny satin ginger female Syrian hamster. She had a beautiful coat. I am going to check on Tarzan & Teddy now and gave them fresh water etc... I miss Tiny so much, it breaks my heart knowing he isn't here anymore. But I guess he's in a better place now and free of any pain/suffering he had because of old age. Tiny had a perfect life and he enjoyed every second of it I hope. Rest in peace, Tiny and to all of my past hamsters. (Muffin, Panda, Mr Jingles, & Baby Boo) By the way, all of my past hamsters are Syrians! Tiny will be on the rainbow bridge now where all the pets go after they die, where they have so much fun and excitement. I also want to say thank you all for so many kind messages on my previous post for the sad loss of Tiny. They have all helped me through this sad time and I appreciate it. Thank you.
