I was working full time, I would hear Francisco’s alarm go off then mine. I’d slump out of bed with zero motivation to put my uniform on and a full face of makeup (required by Sephora btw) .
I was waking up at 4/5 to be there at 6/7 in the morning. Alone. In the stockroom sweating like a mother. Don’t get me wrong. The operations aspect was the best but the stress to meet deadlines with no control over my schedule was a lot. .
I wasn’t taking the time out of my mornings to get ready and look and feel my best because I wasn’t happy. I looked at all the things I had on my plate, surgery, recovery, gym, work, full time school and I told myself one had to go. .
Makeup will always be a passion of mine but it wasn’t my love or drive anymore. I needed to align my work with my love for truly making a difference. Some people can make that happen for them at Sephora. I could not. .
I have spent a month searching for the right fit and I have finally found it as a recreation assistant at a fitness center here on base. .
I’ll be able to study with my schedule, workout and build up my knee, and for the first time in a long time I’m excited for work. .
I felt like I stayed there because I had to. I put in three years from Holiday Hire to Operations Lead. But if I didn’t have the courage to admit this was going nowhere I wouldn’t have found this happiness, this motivation and true love for myself and my goals again. It’s okay to quit something and start anew. It’s scary and risky but planned risks pay off.
Killing three birds with one stone: doing what @kieferlammi tells me to do (), taking Ollie for a walk () and doing a few variations of one the most underrated exercises you should be doing too (esp if you want to your core).
Functional as all hell, carries increase grip, core and upper back strength. They’ll help keep your rotator cuffs happy, up your core and hip stability and improve your posture.
You don’t need a ton of equipment or space and everyone, from beginners to advanced gym goers can do them.. so you should be too
Plus, carrying heavy shit makes you look and feel like a BOSS.
You can use them as strength exercise or conditioning filler. 20-40 yards at a time is usually standard, but make it work with whatever space you have.
You can hold a weight in each hand, just in one, double front racked, single arm front racked, overhead, two DB/KBs of different weights, goblet style, pressed out in front of you with arms extended.... the possibilities are practically endless. #31daysofcorestuff

Month 4 of fitness adventure has been a special. I acquired a shoulder injury that has been bugging me for about a week and a half now, so that sucks. On the flip side, I now am doing intermittant fasting (something I've done before) and am going to attempt it for the next month to see if it kickstarts anything.
That being said, I've managed to lose 4lbs. And a few inches.
Armz: 13 12.5
Waist: 36.5 36
Calves: 16.25 16
Thighs: 27.5 27
Hips: 46 45.5
Total lost: 2.25 inches total and 4lbs. I'll take it.
