Good morning! I hope everyone's Monday is off to a good start!
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is my second-favorite book in the series. (I'm saving my favorite one for later.) For me, this is the book that started taking on darker themes and started introducing the true evil they were all facing. The third book hinted at what was to come, but this one set the tone for the rest of the series. I've actually re-read Goblet of Fire more than the other books, including my favorite one. Maybe it's because of the TriWizard Tournament. I just find it so fascinating! If I were a student at Hogwarts, though, I probably wouldn't try to compete. I think I'd much rather watch the competitions and cheer for Hogwart's competitors.
What about you? Would you enter the TriWizard Tournament or would you rather watch from the stands? (Or, would you rather be the one coming up with all the trials the competitors have to go through?)

"We must learn that passively to accept an unjust system is to cooperate with that system, and thereby to become a participant in its evil." ― Martin Luther King Jr.
Yesterday, my country voted a far-right populist party into our parliament, basically the first time this has happened since the end of WW2. I am heartbroken, ashamed and shocked that a party that incorporates racism, homophobia, sexism, ableism, xenophobia and Nazi content openly in their program has reached the third most seats in our Bundestag.
Now, I am far from a pessimist, and I've always been outspoken and politically active, so I am truly convinced we're able to throw out those bastards that want to divide us. Don't let fucking assholes paralyze you into cowardly bystanders.
Basically this a little call to action, to rebel, to open your mouth in your daily lives when you see the smallest of injustices happen around you. Go rebel, go resist, go punch as many Nazis as you can, go be someone you can look back on and be proud of. These are sadly the times, you guys.
R is for Rebel. We’re talking about the three Rs today in our Read Resist Rebel sweepstakes!
In honor of #BannedBooksWeek, we’d love for you to spread the joy of reading so we’re giving away a prize box! You can enter this #sweepstakes for a chance to win at thenovl.com/readresistrebel or click the link in our bio!

- Lady Midnight
I finished Lady Midnight last night and omg omg omg... I was raving about Cassandra Clare the other day and this post is probably gonna be more of the same. She’s just amazing, her stories are so compelling. I literally dream about them. I can’t believe how good a writer she is (good isn’t the right word, excellent and out of this world are close though). I’m really glad I decided to read Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy first, of not I would have been lost
Hard reader question: best book you’ve read this year? Tough question!!! I’d say The song of Achilles and Lady Midnight
