All about that base
I don't usually wear foundation apart from big occasions where I know there's going to be lots of photographs, so I'm a complete foundation novice
MAC Studio Moisture Tint - my first and only tinted moisturiser, it does what it says on the tin but I think there's much cheaper (and better) alternatives
Soap and Glory Primer - so far, it's a yes from me ! I love that silicone feel, makes my skin feel smoother, however I'm unsure if it makes my makeup last longer just yet
Maybelline The Eraser Eye in Nude - love it, repurchased many many times as it's my favourite drugstore concealer, however be warned the shade selection is tiny and the undertones don't suit everyone !
Nip and Fab Foundation in 40 - can't believe how well this matches my skin tone, I bought it after reading the hype, I love the thin texture and I can sheer it out as much as I like, so it's a big yes from me
KIKO Full coverage concealer in 06 - I've raved so much about this I'll refrain from doing it anymore, but I will definitely repurchase NARS Creamy Concealer in Ginger - another holy grail, love the texture and coverage, comparable to my other favourite MAC concealer
Real Techniques foundation brush - I like to use my beauty blender first, then my brush second just to work the product to make it even, love the quality of these brushes
What's your fave base products ? Let me know
( side note, don't you love my blogger aesthetics with the white flower thanks Ikea !)
First off, a big shout out to @all_saints_jewellers for an amazing experience !
I wanted to buy some new jewellery as I felt I was lacking some new earrings, so I popped into this lovely family-run jewellers in Kings Heath
Before you ask, no it's not an engagement ring, I'm not getting married ! I just liked the teardrop shape, I bought another too which they kindly sent away to be made smaller for me
I rarely buy jewellery, so this was such a great experience I had to share it, be sure to go show them some love please ! (@all_saints_jewellers )
Go see them in store and ask for Shiv, plus they have 15% off right now so I had such a bargain
Can't wait to wear all my new sparkly things !
And no this isn't sponsored or PR, I just had such fun choosing new things :)
Today's makeup picks
(Kidding, I'm home in my pyjamas tidying but let's pretend for the gram)
Primer water by PS Beauty @primark - I actually love this stuff, I spritz it before, during and after makeup, keeps everything looking blended and smooth. Love it so far !
MAC Sweet Copper Compact - love the highlight, Whisper of Gilt
Freedom Brow Pomade - liking this so far, so let's see how we go
NARS creamy concealer - I love this, although I'm too tan for this right now
Maybelline Mega Plush mascara - I do like this, but I've used much better mascara's so this won't be a repurchase
Soap and Glory Kick Ass Powder - cult status for a reason, believe the hype and buy one!
Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner - I like this, easy for thin and thick lines and cat eyes, but I'm still searching for that holy grail eyeliner, any recommendations let me know (no Tom Ford please, I know it's amazing but my mother would have my neck on the line for spending money like that to draw a black line on eye)
NYX Soft Matte Lip cream in Cannes - love this, beautiful shade and I love the application
Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot - so far I like it, but I am missing the coconut scent of my Hangover Rx
I know I'm posting less, I hope to post more but I just haven't worn makeup much lately !
Need to show some love to @themakeupmaestro as I love her pics and how informative they are ! Go show her some love :) xxx
The most random haul ever .. so I popped into town for an eye test, and came home with all of this
Primark PS beauty Primer Water ! I picked up 3, I panicked and decided to get one for me and 2 for my friends, (@_priyanka_patel_ It's heading your way!) how do you even use this ? Before a primer, as a primer, after primer ?! Help me out ! @freedom_makeup Brow Pomade @superdrugloves Simply Pure Hydrating Serum, I've seen so many of you post about it, I wanted to try. And it's buy one get one half price currently, but I behaved and bought one
Invogue eyelashes in Glamourise # 10, they were £1.60 from Body care and I'm intrigued !
Some of my current fave makeup ~ I know I've been MIA again ! I just fall out of routine
Colourpop liquid lipstick in Love Bug ~ I find these are super drying and they dry down darker, but my gosh, they don't budge !
S&G One heck of a blot primer - LA Girl Pro Conceal in Beautiful Bronze as a cream contour shade
NARS Creamy concealer ~ love everything about this, will repurchase !
MAC Gingerly blush ~ you know how much I love this blush, I highly recommend it
ELF brow kit in Dark ~ this is running out and I need a new brow pomade product, any recommendations please let me know down below
I finally got that bright white background ! Thank you Facetune I have grey-purple walls so my lighting is usually rubbish and always gives my pictures an off-white hue; super annoying !
Tartelette in Bloom palette - a firm favourite, perfect shade range and I use it almost everytime I do my makeup, smarty pants is my favourite crease shade
ELF complexion brush
KIKO concealer in 06
NARS creamy concealer in Ginger
Soap and glory primer
MAC gingerly blush - I've used this nearly everyday for a year and I still love it!
KIKO water eyeshadow in 208 as a highlight - it's a cult product for a reason
Seventeen Falsifeye mascara
Nip and Fab liquid lipstick in Spice - I find all these shades are so cool toned, really disappointed as I can't pull it off without a warm lip liner !
I feel like if you could smell this through the screen, you'd want it too!
This is the Mocha Rose lipbalm by Rosebud Salve.
Let's be frank, it's just a lipbalm. It doesn't have any crazy hydrating properties, or make my lips plump or help with cracked lips. BUT it smells like coffee and flowers, and I weirdly love it. It's nice and makes my lips soft with a lovely sheen. Plus it's cute packaging!
Do you need it ? Probably not, but thought it deserved a little review :)
haven't posted a selfie in a while, thought it was about time! Some very natural makeup (with a light filter) because blow drying my hair took longer than I thought
Products used :
ELF Brow Kit, Benefit Brow Gel
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer, set with Soap and Glory Kick Ass powder
Urban Decay Vice palette, Freelove on the lid
MUA brow liner
Maybelline Plush mascara
MAC Gingerly blush, Becca Champagne Pop highlighter
ELF Mist and Set
I'm quite liking the no-liner look lately, very fresh faced. And I forgot to wear a lipstick, so lipbalm it was !
And I had glittery undereyes, because SOMEBODY (@tulsp) used my setting brush for bloody highlighting and didn't tell me. The perks of sisters !
I get asked about my skincare so much, and I always feel silly when I tell people it's just diet & genetics. So this year I've tried to get a good skincare regime just to take care of myself !
For reference, I have normal skin that's slightly dry in winter. I don't have sensitive skin and I don't think I've ever had a spot maybe one in my teens. But to summarise I have fairly normal skin. Lately I've been using these products ..
Body Shop Skin defence sunscreen spf 50 - I'm trying to take better care of my skin and I love this ! Feels smooth and lightweight for everyday use, but I'd try the Biore next
Boots Botanics Facial Oil - this is my second bottle, I love the smell and the feel, I wear it at night before bed and wake up with lovely plump skin, I've heard this is been/being discontinued. I'm distraught
Clinique moisture surge - this is my new daytime moisturiser, not going to lie, I can smell the alcohol when I wear it but it's lightweight and very moisturising, so far I do like it
Clinique Turnaround Overnight moisturiser, this is also new, a thicker cream texture that nourishes overnight. I've never used a night cream before so this is new for me! And therefore I have nothing to compare it too
So there you have it ! There's no secret formula for me, I wish I had a better routine for you but I just sort of try new things. I adore @carolinehirons for skincare advice, her page is so informative and definitely worth following !
When you didn't snooze your alarm for once and have time to do makeup this is an annual occurrence, id rather have the sleep !
I still love this Zoeva warm spectrum palette, I'd be tempted to buy more if I didn't own so many already !
My staple products for everyday, no I don't use a primer everyday as I don't wear a base product
ELF Mist and Set - I love the fresh scent, I don't know how much it actually does but it's a lovely wake me up !
MAC Blush in Gingerly - holy grail, go ask Poof, if you know you know !
Elf blush brush - love all elf brushes
NARS Creamy concealer - quickly becoming my favourite concealer
KIKO Water eyeshadow in 208 - as a highlight Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil - don't like it, won't repurchase :(
Benefit Brow Gel - holds your eyebrows in place alllllll damnnnn day !
Seventeen Falsifeye mascara - spikey brush so use at your own risk, but great end results
Mocha Rose lipbalm Rosebud Perfume Co
Some pretty makeup bits
I know I know, I took a longggg break. I went away, I got busy with work, my best friend got married, the usual !
And no shame here but I'm wearing minimal makeup today because I'm on nights until Monday jealous of all you people with that Friday feeling !
I bought some new makeup bits, spot that new primer that I heard @ummbaby rave about eons ago so I needed to try it.
And I purchased an old favourite, ELF Mist and Set because MAC Charged Water is too expensive to be wasted spraying it everyday
So how is everyone ?! What did I miss
Colourpop liquid lipsticks
Still trialling these, swatches coming soon !
They are incredibly drying so I need to prep my lips well beforehand, however they are pigmented and smooth.
I much prefer wearing glossy lips in the summer months, but these do not budge ! It took a lot of scrubbing and cleansing oil and at least half my lip layers ...
Morphe 36O palette
I know there has been so much controversy regarding Morphe and their products, and in the future I will be most likely refraining from buying their products... however !
I can't help but love this palette, I love the pigmentation of 'most' of these shades, there are some that swatch beautifully but don't transfer to the lid well, especially the glittery ones.
But I keep reaching for it for the warm tones
Go follow @beautytruthsleuthofficial for more info, one of my favourite pages as she is SO honest, I catch up with her page everyday
Some fave makeup pics
I know I've been away, I had a combination of night shifts and on call, and then I went to Belgium ! And honestly I haven't worn makeup all that much lately ;)
But I've been catching up with you all, secretly stalking
Makeup picks for the day
I love the Pro conceal yellow corrector to contrast when I use an orange corrector under my eyes, but the formula continues to split and water comes out so I won't be repurchasing
Some favourite makeup picks
ELF High definition powder - now I hear elf will be sold in Superdrug soon, I have loved ELF products for years, when they used to have a UK website and everything was £1-5 ! Now I see the prices have gone up, elf is hit and miss I think but some of their products are amazing. Especially their brushes, I like the powder to bake with but it gives off a white cast so I'd say give this a miss.
MAC blush in Gingerly is holy grail for now and ever
Benefit goof proof pencil and Ready Set Brow gel, love the combo of these but I won't be investing in the pencil personally. I like it but I'm sure the drugstore will have a good copy, the gel however I think is worth it.
Seventeen Falsifeye mascara, absolute favourite ! Super sharp spiky brush so be careful, but great formula and will repurchase
L'Oréal true match highlight in Golden Glow, I bought this after seeing how glowy my best friend looked (@satvir09) and I needed it too, I mix it with my tinted moisturiser for glowy skin and I love it !
On another note I am on annual leave for a week, and I have so much free time this is new to me ... expect lots of rambling posts
