Happy new year and new beginnings!
I always strive to be outdoors as much as possible and visit places I’ve never been but the goal this year is to simply be more sustainable.
I am doing this by buying less of the things I want and focus on the things I need. Choosing to avoid plastic and products that will harm the environment. Buying food, health and beauty products that are locally sourced or even better, made by myself.
By doing this I am hoping to invite more quality, creativity and inspiration into my life. Whether it’s gardening and sourcing my own food or discovering local businesses who create everyday necessities, rather than buying mass produced items especially clothing/fast fashion: the number one culprit of global warming!
The reality is that there are some things I know I won’t be able to avoid as sometimes choosing to be sustainable can be an expensive experience, but I hope that throughout this, I can influence other people to at least make small changes to help better and protect our environment. ———————————————————
I’m interested to know what everyone is doing in their daily lives to be more sustainable and minimal. What businesses have you come across that are environmentally friendly? Hand crafted products are always my favourite too so don’t hesitate to tag your go to local! - by local I am meaning mostly New Zealand, but Australia can be an exception on some occasions! ——————————————————— Thanks also to @piha_swimwear For gifting this lovely vibrant bikini set I am wearing here. It makes me feel proud that the clothes I am wearing are from a local brand! Always support your local x thanks to @lisa_annc From @threemondays For the photo
Don’t normally have many pics of myself because I’m usually the photographer, however Amber did a great job at capturing this moment with my camera, edited by me. It’s definitely One of my fav selfie #justkeepswilling@thelostgirlsnz
Apologies for being MIA land of instagram.. I recently had lots of fun hiding in the bushes photographing for @brm_cycles at their demo day last Sunday though. Here’s one of my shots from the day! Was my first time photographing mountain bikers, it was fun and thrilling as I nearly got ran over many times by these adrenaline junkies
In between Muriwai and Te Henga, we chilled on this crazy as ledge with a 50m drop below. Jokes I have no idea how far the bottom is but we were pretty high up. Such an awesome spot for a view of the Tasman sea
