My daughter and I always seem to have the best conversations at 3 in the morning. She’s just going to bed and I’m getting up for work. We were talking about our vacation plans for 2018 and we started reminiscing about our vacations this year. It’s already coming up on a year since we were in London. I think we are both ready to go back. .
Yesterday’s hike....I love this place, so much. It has a special place in my heart. It’s so peaceful, secluded, and simply magical.

An early morning start brought a somewhat picturesque sunrise yesterday morning. But the mountains, ohhhh they did not disappoint. I’m so excited for the snow. I’ve never skied and at my age, I don’t want nor need to learn. But I can snowshoe and I’m more than ready for that.

There is a phenomenon called trail magic, known and spoken with reverence by everyone who hikes the trail, which holds that often when things look darkest, some little piece of serendipity comes along to put you back in a heavenly plane. #wanderlust#womenwhohike#myhappyplace
Someday, hopefully soon, I will be able to get out and play in the snow. Work is kicking my butt, 65 hours last week and looking pretty close to the same this week. Somebody come save me from myself.... #letitsnow#workaholic#lorieneedsalife
