Happy Monday peeps πŸ™‹πŸΌπŸ’• It's a new week! ✨ I started my day with a 20 minute meditation! Yep #winningatlife Momentarily at least. A very rare treat in the morning for me, I usually sleep in way too late to manage anything more but get my daughter through the door ready for school and myself in one piece, though usually in a very questionable state, hair only half brushed if lucky, always with a bright lipstick to distract you from the disarray of my being. Chasing the "put together working mother" delusion everyday sure is exhausting! So you see given that I managed meditation this fine morning is rather special, shocking really...and so I'm feeling a little inspired to share a thought that came to me... you know one of those weird ones that just get dropped suddenly like an insight from above rather than your original thought πŸ’­ ...so here goes... Our lives are so magnified and glorified by social media, it's all too easy to feel a little "less-than" at times. "I'm not as handsome as he" or "I'm not as smart as she...what do I have to offer to compete against!?" You know all that abusive self talk that you use to give your self-esteem a good beating on occasion. To any negative comparisons lingering in your mind say "bullshit!" Me, I got plenty! You are more than enough with more magic inside you to create and attract adventures of your wildest dreams for a 100 lifetimes ✨so step outside with confidence, raise up with love in your heart and show up. Competition is an illusion. Each one of us has a unique set of gifts, each one of us magnificent, irreplaceable and powerful. There is plenty of abundance and opportunity to go around so stay planted in your magic and bloom where you are today. Dream big and never worry because the Universe has your back! Saturdays are my sleep in days and rarely will I allow anything to get in the way of that. I roll out of bed around...well...depends πŸ˜‚ this morning it was 10:30am but I'm not ashamed to admit I was surprised to be awake so early! πŸ˜† Then I will usually have an indulgent breakfast feast, then meditate for 15 minutes, usually out of my PJs by one or two in the afternoon, but do not pop over for a Saturday afternoon visit because I may not be out of PJs yet! I may read or just sit on the sofa pondering life, dishes in sink or not! Sometimes my daughter drags me out of the house before noon for something "urgent" like a new kids movie to watch or a bday party to attend, but these are the only exceptions I'll make. I do this completely guilt free, filled with joy and a big smile on my face. I used to fill my weekends with activities, catching up on housework (although I may water my plants) or meeting with peeps but these days I savour the only day I can be utterly UNPRODUCTIVE and enjoy just being πŸ˜ŒπŸ’Ÿ What's on your Saturday agenda?

🌴 COCONUTS 🌴
With so many uses in the kitchen, beauty and home, it's really hard to imagine how did we ever get by without it! How do use yours?
I use coconut oil for frying and baking but I will use it in smoothies and sweet recipes too. Yesterday I bought some new wooden chopping boards so I massaged some coconut oil into the wood to condition and protect them. They last longer and are better protected from germs that way. I've used it on wooden furniture before too, and to polish leather shoes but my beauty routine is where I can not live without it!! I use coconut oil as an all-over-body moisturiser, lip balm, makeup remover and hair conditioner. Once when I run out of shaving cream I used coconut oil instead, it worked a treat and my legs were heavenly smooth gloss. Very rarely (if I have time πŸ™„) I like to mix it with either sea salt or left over ground coffee from the morning brew and use it as an easy, chemical free body scrub. So yes, could not live without it, safe to say πŸ˜‚ oh and that's right! When my daughter was little, and couldn't be trusted with even the purest of toothpastes, I used to clean her little chompers with a tiny bit of coconut oil and massage it into the gums πŸ‘ΆπŸΌπŸ’•πŸŒ΄ How do you use it??? 🌴✨

Your body does so much on your behalf. Never complaining, never slacking off, never giving up on you. What it needs in return is really quite basic, nutritious food, pure water, movement, rest... yet very often we forget to even provide our body with those. Your body loves you. Give some love back. Go on now... start. somewhere. anywhere. Maybe it's a 20 minute walk, or a big glass of water first thing in the morning, or maybe it's putting your phone down for a while and breathing more mindfully... even the smallest of steps matter. matter a lot πŸ’—

Medicine has been very slow to admit the connection between body and mind. Your thoughts matter and influence the results you get wherever you focus your attention. The idea of eliminating illness by focusing all of our attention on lack of health and fighting the disease doesn't seem to be working. Our wars against cancer, heart disease, obesity are only gaining momentum. We can't attract health while focusing all of our thoughts on disease. And I know this notion may seem outrageous to some of you, but humour yourself to this little exercise... for one day, focus your thoughts on wellness, vitality and your body's magnificent resilience. Make effort to let go of any thoughts of lack, weakness or fragility. Focus on how you WANT to feel or look. Give THAT your undivided attention. Look for evidence of abundance, wellbeing and ease that already exists within your body and environment. Do this for just one day and see what shifts...πŸ’— We are so particular about so many insignificant things like clothes we wear and cars we drive, yet we are not selective at all about the thoughts we choose to think. Changing the direction of your thoughts and focus is a game changer ✨

Your cells are listening in on your inner dialogue. Pay attention to how you talk to and about self, how you are thinking about the food you choose to eat. Feeling guilty and anxious about your food choices can never produce healthful results, kale on plate or not. Respect and love food for its nourishing and life giving energy, know that anything ANYTHING you choose to eat, kale or donut, your body is more than capable to use it to its best advantage and metabolise its components for great use by the body. Your guilt or regret around food is far more damaging than any sugar laden with sprinkles on top choice you could make so invest in your relationship with food. Make food your friend, because it is.
