“My name is Louis! I've been travelling and living on the road for the past year! My journey has taken me to some amazing places and I've had the most incredible experiences along the way! I've met so many wonderful people, and have had the adventure of a lifetime! From volunteering with elephants in Cambodia, to teaching English in Vietnam, to watching Usain Bolt win gold at the Olympics in Rio, to trekking through Patagonia, to experiencing -37 degree temperatures in Canada this adventure has seriously had it all! Can't wait to see where my adventures take me in the future!”

"We've been travelling for the past two years together, spending six months overlanding through Africa, another seven in Asia, and the remainder in Europe and Australasia. After meeting in Colombia on a scuba diving trip we became inseperable, which wasn't easy since we're from different countries on different continents. Travelling brought the two of us together and has changed our view of the world we live in.
-
The ups and downs have been incredibly great and incredibly tough, and we wouldn't trade our experiences for the world. We're embarking on a new journey in Australia at the moment and can't wait to get back to the Americas next year and finally down to Antarctica! Travel has been the best and worst thing depending on the day, but something we can't seperate from our lives no matter what happens ❤️🌎"

"I told myself last 2015 that I'll travel around Southeast Asia on 2016. People thought it was impossible because I was studying architecture at the time. On April of that year, I travelled around Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. I was so overwhelmed with the different cultures and meeting people around the world. It was beautiful and from then on, I continued travelling . I am currently on my 10th country and living in Indonesia. ✈️❤️"

“I started my solo travels two years ago, before that time I lived in the Netherlands. There is nothing wrong with the Netherlands but for me it wasnt the place to be. I felled often depressed. I just desired change, a life with new experiences every day, a life that would change me as a individual. A life that would take me out of the loop that most people see as a way of life. I needed change, less internet connection and more inspiration to explore, photograph and be active. This change gave me the love for life back ❤️"

“I have been travelling the world on my own since I was 18. I started travelling to escape the boundaries of my every days life. I like discovering new things and broadening my horizon. I dream of travelling the entire world because I know there is something beautiful in every country - be it the people, the culture or the nature. Travelling means freedom to me. The experience I have made around the globe made me more tolerant and open-minded. I have learnt to get along with everyone everywhere even without speaking each other's language. For me frontiers are man-made. You shouldn't set yourself any boundaries. You should overcome prejudice and not to be afraid of the foreign because dividing the world into the 'us' and the 'others' creates fear and inequality. For me travelling reduces such tendencies"

“Hey! My name is Andrea. I am from Romania, but I live in Austria, because I study Nutrition at the University of Vienna. As every normal girl, I love fashion, bags and shoes, but also reading and travelling.
-
This year I was in London (one of my favourite cities), Germany (in Köln), Turkey (Alanya), Carinthia/ Austria (Villach- Faaker See) and I will go on Cyprus (Agya Napa) and Sardinia (Olbia).
-
My favourite photo was taken last year in September by my boyfriend. I am on the viewing platform over Navagio ( The Shipwreck Beach on Zakynthos- Greece). I find it special, because it was taken after a storm and that's why, there was only the peace of nature, without people on the beach or ships on the sea.”

"15 years ago we were forced to flee to Europe and as odd as it may sound, it was the best thing ever happend to me. In Somalia I lived in a nomadic tribe and we traveled from location to location in search of water and food. 15 years forward and the nomad in me is still alive. The only difference is that I don't have to worry about food or water. But more about what place I want to see. I feel so blessed and motivated to improve the life of people I encounter. And I hope to give them the same opportunity as I was given. That is why I started Thisworldstillrocks. Not only to inspire you to travel and see the world. But also to show that you have the power within you to change every negative situation in to something good."

“Hey guys! I'm Kelsey, a ginger from Northern California with a serious case of wanderlust. I didn't always have the itch to travel, until I was 21 and went on a road trip from San Francisco all the way to Vancouver and back. When I got home, all I wanted was to hit the road again, and from that day forward I was hooked.
-
Since then, I've swam through underground rivers in New Zealand, completed driving Iceland's infamous Ring Road, explored the fjords of Norway as you see here and have been fortunate enough to go on so many other adventures in between.
-
I travel to not only make unforgettable memories but to learn more about the world we live in and my place in it. I've learned that getting lost is sometimes the best way to find yourself 💫 So wherever you've been day dreaming of, I'm telling you now...go ahead and book that ticket"

“Being happy is the key to life. I see so many people that struggle with happiness and I wonder why. Happiness is a choice, and you can make that choice everyday. Just find that thing that makes you happy and go for it, no matter how hard it is. While travelling, I'm always happy. It connects me with people from all over the world 🌎 There are so many nice places to discover and wonderful people to meet. Make happiness your priority, your choice!!”

“There is something so incredibly liberating about packing your bags, say goodbye to your regular life and going on a one way journey around the world 🎒
-
The first time I did this I was 18 years old. I wanted to learn about different cultures and countries and more importantly, about myself.
-
Now it is 6 years on and I'm on still on this journey. Each and everyday a new adventure, a new lesson and a new day of life!
-
I wouldn't change a thing"

"Our journey to reach this natural bridge via the river was long and involved. We suffered through near death from diarrhea and vomiting, my drone went down in a river due to some weird malfunction, 2 parking tickets, only 2 of the 5 cameras that we had on the trip were still working by the time we reached the El Arco, we spent half a day trying to find some simple gas for our camping stoves, and we were swindled out of money trying to find someone to help us exit the canyon that ultimately delayed our plans to make El Arco. In the moment all of these things were very discouraging but in the end they gave the trip a complex, beautiful character that made it one of the best I've had in all of my life."

"7 months into a 10 month trip, my girlfriend and I were in Nepal and decided we should trek to Everest Base Camp. We knew it would be difficult, but what we didn't know was the most difficult part would come 2 days after we reached Everest, when we decided to cross through the mountains via the Cho La Pass. At 17,000ft (5000m) the oxygen levels are 55% of what they are at sea level, which meant the hours-long vertical climb was no joke. When we reached the top of the pass, my girlfriend, who had been altitude sick for days already, turned and asked me, "How many more hours until the Cho La Pass?" She had pushed herself so hard that she didn't even realize we'd made it through. I told her we were standing at the top of the pass and she immediately started crying"

“We took this picture in the Big Lagoon in the Philippines in January 2017. One of our favorite places on this amazing earth. We have been a couple for two years now and we have had a long distance relationship for that time. Since our passports don't allow us to live together all the time, we use planet earth to accommodate us. For us travelling means being together in a place that isn't home for both of us. Being both out of your comfort zone really taught us how to trust each other and definitely made us a stronger couple. Additionally it gave us amazing memories and stories to tell. We are trying to use every free weekend to make at least a small city trip and we're always planning our next big trip ahead.”

“My first time on a plane alone was three years ago. Before that, I travelled with family and friends to explore new places. Being alone on the plane for the first time, I actually realized what I was doing. Flying alone from Germany to Asia was the best decision I have ever made. A decision I will never regret. I collected so many memories and met so many wonderful people. Traveling alone makes a person so much richer in experience. Traveling is the best teacher. Since my Solo-Trip I´m obsessed to start new adventures. I love the mountains, the sea, the sun and the rain. Exploring new foreign cultures. Trying the local food... and so on and so on…

"Meet Christina, American travel enthusiast who recently quit her job to pursue her passion of traveling the world. Christina caught the "travel bug" at 17 when her graduation gift was a backpack and a plane ticket to Europe to travel with her sister for a month. She almost refused to go...but thank goodness she didn't! She absolutely loved it and 3 years later studied abroad in Spain. After graduation and working in corporate for a handful of years she positioned herself for an international job. In 2014 she moved to Malaysia for work, then Singapore a year and a half later. After two wonderful years of working in Singapore and traveling Asia extensively on the weekends she quit her job to pursue her dream of traveling the world! Next to that initial decision to take the chance on the backpacking trip at 17, its been the best decision of her life (and of course, marrying Allan, who is her awesome Scottish travel partner!)
✨
Her advice - take risks! The outcome will amaze you!!

Follow their adventure over the next 12 months as they travel and explore the world. 💫🌏"

"I love to travel because I love to dream! Aside from capturing beautiful sceneries (because photography is another of my passions), going on a trip allows me to create unforgettable memories and bring new stories to tell. Each place conveys a sensation and more than postcards I want to collect these sensations. So travelling gives me perspectives and joy! Travelling is going, just going, no matter where 🌎"

"I first got into traveling with my partner. And our first trip was an Indo-China trip which was a beautiful sensory overload of experiences.
-
About two years ago I started to get into photography, and it has enriched the experience of traveling even further. It has pushed me to really enjoy moments and the scenery to a different level.
-
Above everything else, it is the learning about cultures, the history, and the people of a country / locality"

"I started to love travelling at the age of 11 when I was leaving on a trip with my parents. Now my life motto is to work to be able to travel more and live my dream of discovering this beautiful world. Travelling became a true passion, I love spending time preparing routes of countries around the world. For me, travelling is not just discovering a new country or a new city. It became a journey about self-discovering, where I have the chance to overcome my limits. The weather can bring you difficulties, the schedule might change and there might be problems on the way but it doesn’t really matter at the end. Travel is what makes me feel alive”

"Traveling has helped us to reflect upon ourselves and see what is truly dear to us in life. All the places we have been to, cultures we encountered and people we have met really shaped the way we are today. Travelling opened our minds for the unknown, the new and different which has made us step out and away from that comfort zone. We try to encourage people to get out and be present with who they are and what they really want. Our stories and pictures help us to convey this message."
