Now, the ‘Needed Me’ singer has been announced as Harvard University’s 2017 Humanitarian of the Year.Rih Rih will officially be bestowed the honor, also regarded as the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian award, next Tuesday during a ceremony on Harvard’s campus. As the first Black female artist to receive the award, the international music phenomenon will join the ranks of several notable past award winners, including U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, tennis star Arthur Ashe and actor James Earl Jones.
