Some more of my favourite female authors.
The last few days I haven't been able to read that much because I'm stuck with two novels I have to finish for my literature classes (and they're not really my cup of tea). I hope to get back on track soon. In the meantime, just look at those books. Aren't those babes beautiful?
Today, especially today, I want to remind myself how strong and resilient I can be. How lucky I am to have people in my life that inspire me everyday, how lucky I am to have good health, to have a choice.
Count your blessings, don't take anything or anyone for granted because we all have our demons. Be kind. Choose love. And keep fighting, you got this. It gets better. It does. •
"Why should you want to exclude from your life all unsettling, all pain, all depression of spirit, when you don't know what work it is these states are performing within you? Why do you want to persecute yourself with the question of where it all comes from and where it is leading? You well know you are in a period of transition and want nothing more than to be transformed." - Rainer Maria Rilke •
I discovered Rilke's poetry a couple of years ago and it has never left me since then. Do yourself a favour and read him. Pick any of his books. Your soul will forever thank you.
"One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don't throw it away." •
I have this quote written on the wall, right in front of my desk. I used to read it while I was writing my BA dissertation on astronomy and Tennyson's poetry. I still read it every time I find myself stuck with my studies (or with life in general, really). Hawking was such an inspiration.
Have a safe journey through the stars.
Tomorrow is #InternationalWomensDay so I thought I would share some of my favourite female authors. There are so many more but these are the ones that I've been reading and re-reading lately.
Let yourself be inspired by all the beautiful, brave and strong women out there!
