Today I'm Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the birthplace of my grandfather, Stu Hart. Stu grew up in the Saskatchewan wilderness hunting his own food, making own clothes and sleeping with dogs next to him just to stay warm. He had NOTHING. He found refuge at a YMCA, where he started amateur wrestling. Wrestling became his salvation and he became amateur wrestling champion of Canada.
My grandfather had an incredible work ethic. He ended up building an empire (Stampede Wrestling) and he shared his wealth with so many people, including numerous charities across Canada. Because of those contributions and for the man he was.... he was honored with The Order of Canada. He has always been my greatest inspiration.
Amazing morning run through the wilderness in Calgary before I head to Edmonton for #WWELive tonight! The Rocky Mountains , the snow and crisp Alberta air... plus the high altitude really helps my conditioning in the ring. Nothing I can't do...
Living that scarf life in Calgary today! (in honor of @chrisjerichofozzy of course) Check out my weekly column in the #CalgarySun (and online CalgarySun.com)
Today's column is fittingly titled "GROWING UP HART."
You'll find out which wrestler broke every toilet seat in the Hart House....
Such a great evening catching up with these two! My friend @stubrennanactor is a truly gifted BAFTA award winning actor who's working on some really amazing projects ... can't wait to share more about soon:) #Calgary
