These past few weeks, I've been a smidge lazy with my workouts as school has taken precedence (my test is Friday and then things will calm down to regular #gradschool crazy) but today I decided that wasn't going to cut it anymore so I'm going to be the girl who decides to #goforit .

I struggle with HUUGE amounts of guilt when it's crunch time on a paper, project or test. I can't work out without thinking that I should be studying. I can't eat dinner without noticing my laptop and textbooks over in the corner. I can't drive in the car without thinking that I should be mentally rehearsing the information. It's unhealthy, it raises my #stress level through the roof, and it makes me cranky all the time because I feel bad about what I "should" be doing. I have a giant #comps test in one week ๐Ÿ˜ต but I know I need to take care of myself before and after the test, which includes making time for exercise, eating, and some relaxation. It also means not binging on unhealthy foods to cope. So I did my workout today and then studied. And I'll enjoy dinner and then study. And I'll go to bed at a decent time and do it all again tomorrow. If there's one thing I've learned through #gradschool about life is IT'S ALL ABOUT BALANCE and making sustainable choices. A lesson I'm slowly but surely learning. -

People were not kidding about #bbgweek9 - the legs workout just about killed me ๐Ÿ˜ต, my heart rate was crazy high, and, as you can see, I am dripping sweat๐Ÿ’ง

Two things to note: first, I started counting #macros this week. Turns out I'm not hitting carbs or protein in my diet but I've been just right on fats ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ and I'm not eating enough calories in a day. Ideas? -
Second, I go back to school and practicum full time this week and every year this is where my progress tanks. #gradstudent ๐ŸŽ“ I struggle to find time for workout, I don't have time to cook clean meals, and my stress levels are high. BUT my motivation is also high this year (much more than previous years) so I think I can keep at it! -

Not gonna lie, the rest of me was pink and sweaty (#armsandabs day is my nemesis) but I felt real good during my workout when I saw these pretty nails ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿป I don't usually have my nails done, but it was a treat for myself the other day when I had time to kill and they were #motivation to keep going today #girlswholift #barely ๐Ÿ˜‚ working on introducing some weights into my workouts. I'm still doing #bbgguide and #sweatwithkayla but I've felt like some of the weeks have been light on bicep and hamstring exercises, so I'm subbing out a one exercise in a circuit to make sure all my muscles are getting some love! -

Today I had some wins and some losses. Health wise, I was on point - ate all my fruits and veggies, got lots of protein, desperately wanted a chocolate chip cookie but passed (by telling myself I'll get it tomorrow ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ) and completed #legday. On the other hand, I needed to study for more than the one hour I did, and I needed to watch less #CriminalMinds than I did. I have a big competency exam coming up in my #psyd program in one month but while my workout motivation is high, my academic motivation low ๐Ÿ˜” it can be really hard to balance when you wear so many hats but here's hoping tomorrow is better and more productive! Felt like a Monday for sure. -

This is what lunch looks like when you want a little bit of everything! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Just got back from a weekend trip to #Portland and I am honestly impressed with how well hubby and I ate - we still got in at least some fruits and veggies every day, worked out everyday, and only had dessert once ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป I won't lie though, I was super bummed we didn't have a chance to go to #saltandstraw because I had every intention of indulging there ๐Ÿ˜ฉ even though we had fun, it's certainly much easier to eat well and exercise at home! Here's to starting #bbgweek7 today! -

I really enjoy the @sweat Apple Watch โŒš๏ธ app, and it makes my workouts 10x easier. I don't have to check my phone every time I finish an exercise to see what's next, and I don't have to try to hold onto it while jumping around like crazy on #legday.
