EARTH HOUR! Join us next Saturday 24th 8.30-9.30pm UK time for the symbolic ‘Earth Hour’ light switch off!
This campaign is already running and @wwf_uk are doing an amazing job of trying to encourage real, long term behaviour changes.
I am becoming more and more aware of my own behaviour and habits and would like to think I’m doing quite well but I think I could do better! For example for never ever buy plastic bags at the super market, but my new promise is to switch off all switches around the house when I’m not using them, and Sarah drinks loads of coffee and promises to buy a cup for life!
COMMENT below with your promises to the environment that you can stick to!
Stay tuned for Earth Hour next Saturday!
TEAM PICKLE vs TEAM ALEX
Try this abs workout!
10 reps of everything
It will take you 10-15 minutes, it won’t require any equipment, and you can do it at home! Don’t you dare try to find excuses as to why you can’t do it!
“Yeh but Alex, you’re so lucky you work from home so fitting the gym in is so easy!” Some people envy my lifestyle and assume it must be so easy to work from home, and workout whenever I want.
But the fact that most days I’m on my own time schedule actually means I lack structure and really struggle to maintain a routine.
Going to work can actually give you a clearer routine & structure to when you exercise or workout!
So here is a big virtual high 5 to those people who either work from home / or don’t work, but still keep up their fitness routine, because we know that when we’re at home, there is always something that takes our attention, like the endless list of errands, waiting for a delivery man (this drives me crazy), working on the business, making food, and the fact that the day can run away from you without realising!
We got this #CrockFitters!!!
Getting Lost in Venice... NEW YouTube video just posted on my channel now, so go watch it if you wanna see what we got up to!
It was Sarah’s birthday, and we had an amazing little adventure! Life is beautiful, the opportunity we have by being on this planet shouldn’t be wasted. Travel, laugh, love, smile and don’t take it all too seriously. This is the amazing life I’m living and I couldn’t be more grateful to be sharing it with my girl
And the fact I get to share it with you too, is just incredible!
Have you been to Venice? And if you did, did you get lost?
Back from a weekend in Venice! Lots of pasta & pizza, and I may have also relapsed with my Nutella addiction too
However my muscle’s glycogen stores are more than full and ready for a positive week of training!
This year I have battled with non stop injury, and staying positive and adapting is such a challenge. For those of you who are struggling with an injury, I feel you!! I sprained my ankle on January 6th and it’s still not perfect, and 2 week ago, the knee joined in on the action 🤪
My Story! Just posted a new YouTube video (click link in bio)
My story so far, my motivation every day, my inspiration, my passion. The answer, is you!!
Helping you achieve results, become fitter, healthier and generally just feel amazing!!!
I hope you guys watch the video and enjoy this @fiit trainer spotlight!
I’m so excited for FIIT to launch next week so you can workout at home with one of my classes! Sign up via their page or go to https://getfiit.tv/alex
Fix Your Shoulder Pain!
Go to my YouTube channel to watch it!
Search my channel - Alex Crockford.
In the full video I talk about the rotator cuff. The rotator cuff includes the subscapularis, infraspinatus, supraspinatus and the teres minor muscles.
It’s so important to remember that the function of these muscles (apart from one! Subscap) is ‘external rotation’ and/or abduction.
However I bet your upper body workouts are full of ‘internal rotation’! Chest press, shoulder press, chest flys are all internal rotation.
To improve your weak rotator cuff, you need to include some exercises that externally rotate your shoulder.
With my personal & professional experience people with shoulder pain when lifting often have either a weak or inflexible (or both) rotator cuff.
Obviously if you have a serious injury, please see a Physio and seek further guidance. However if you get some discomfort when lifting, then please try these exercises and watch the full YouTube video tutorial... Tag your training partner to make sure you get this done in your warm up / prep routine.
15 reps of each exercise for 5 circuits!
No equipment, no gym, and not even much space either! This circuit is mainly upper body, because I am still ‘resting’ my knee injury, and also I’m walking about 20k steps around Venice haha.
So many people will say, just relax when you’re on holiday and don’t train. It may be those people that don’t fully understand a fitness lifestyle, and that THIS is me relaxing. When fitness is your lifestyle, you exercise because you love your body, because you love how it makes you feel, because that daily sweat and blood pumping through your muscles is like a drug and that your day isn’t the same without it.
Fitness, and the connection with your mind & body is a special thing, and if I were to try motivate someone to create healthy habits, I would explain these benefits first, before the aesthetic benefits. Looking good is a bi-product of your healthy habits.
There is 24 hours in a day, and if you don’t have 20 minutes to exercise your body, what kind of life are you living? If you want to build a fitness lifestyle, with a very low commitment of time and effort, then take a look at my #homefit plans which include 20 Minute Workouts, 5 times per week, no equipment needed. Available worldwide at www.alexcrockford.com (link in bio)
Building your shoulders!
Learn your angles - when you lift in front of your body you’ll target your anterior deltoids. When you lift out to the side you’ll target your medial deltoids, and when you lift behind your body you’ll help target your posterior deltoids.
Quality of contraction, mind to muscle connection and effective technique is ALWAYS more important than the amount of weight you try to lift.
The gym environment is an intimidating place if you let it be, so just remember that you are there for you, and no one else. Everyone started somewhere, and everyone is going somewhere, we are all on different stages of our personal journey!
I’m currently on a ‘maintain fitness model physique whilst training for marathon’ kinda journey it can be done. Watch me! Happy #internationalwomensday ladies! To celebrate this I have given you 50% OFF all female fitness plans at #CrockFit for today only! Go to www.alexcrockford.com (link in bio) to check out my #SheFit and #CrockFitAbs plans... Who’s watching and applying my daily workouts on my insta stories??? Off to Venice for Sarah’s birthday tomorrow, who’s been there? And what’s your top recommendations?

BACK in the gym for BACK day!
If you keep your back / entire posterior chain strong, then it will look after you! I learnt the hard way last year with lots of back spasms, and am now picking up the pieces
Spend at least 1-2 minutes in each position for a good stretch.
1 - walking downward dog
2 - climber step stretch. Each leg
3 - deep squat
4 - forward fold
My legs are getting sore from yesterday and have been doing these.... albeit not all in front of the Eiffel Tower. Did I get weird looks? 100% yes! did I care? 100% no! Haha
I’ve been tracking everything with my @fitbituk_ireland. I love checking how many hours I sleep to make sure I hit that 7/8 hours per night, which doesn’t always happen! But seeing it within the app is so motivating. I also check my steps and calorie burn daily! I’m a guy who just loves to measure as much as I can and the FitBit ionic makes it so easy for me to do! A special thanks to @fitbituk_ireland for making this trip happen! ♂️ Have a great week everyone!! #CrockFit#fitness#recovery#stretch#rest#paris#france#semideparis#fitness#fitnessuk#downwarddog#restday#health#fitbit#crockfitcommunity
I’m not gonna lie, I put myself out there for possible public failure and had no idea anyone would turn up... I hadn’t done this before and it was a scary thing to do for me.
Here are some of the pics of people that did come and say hi! I am so so grateful thank you so much for coming!
It’s so amazing that I can travel around and meet the people who have followed and supported me on social media, and just shows how incredible and powerful social media can be to connect people, make people smile and have positive influences on us all.
I hope more opportunities like this come around, so I can meet more of you!
Lots of love, hugs & croissants xxx
On my way back to london now! #Crockfit#paris#meetup#grateful#thankyou#france#fitness#health#eiffeltower#crockfitcommunity
Some medals are easy, some medals are hard. Today was hard! A very slow 13.1 miles today battling through a knee injury!
Thank you so much @fitbituk_ireland for an awesome run at the @semideparis and well done to all the other runners, especially all of the #FitbitTeam!
Time to rehab the knee and get ready for the big 26.2 in london in 7 weeks... I’m staying here in Paris for one more day to chill out wahoo
