I’ve been doing #pdseahorse for a long time but only found about a 50% success rate with it. Sometimes I fell, sometimes I stayed on and I really didn’t know why. Today, I realized that it’s all about that butt cheek. When I keep my oblique engaged and think about pushing into my side butt not my butt crack, that’s when it works!
#wcw for @erinparsley I started working more seriously on my ground dance technique last year and Erin has been a big part of helping me learn. She developed this #unstoppable#choreography and each session we dance a little bit more together. Erin and I will both be performing in the Movement Arts Festival this Friday at #gracecathedral - come check it out!
I learned this little skater move three years ago from @marloathlete. When I got it, I remember thinking ‘Yes, check!’ and then I didn’t try it again until yesterday. I love seeing these side by side because the movement quality is so different. Hurried in the first, slower in the second. This was a good reminder for me that there is no such thing as ‘getting’ a move. Our movement evolves the more we allow ourselves to settle in to poses and our own bodies.
My #wcw is @lia.naps, @sfpoleanddance creative director. I’ve never met anyone so thoughtful, meticulous yet still incredibly creative. Thanks for being in my life, boo. May we go to space together.
