DECEMBER 4, 2017 ~ After three years of calling Hawaii my home, this chapter of my life has come to an end and it's time for a new one to begin. As fast as those years went by, so much happened and the memories I have here make life feel like a movie. It's left me at nearly a loss of words, but in the most beautiful way. Dropping my car off at the port, closing my storage, and shipping all of my household things is what really kicked my reality in today.
Only one hour until I head to the airport, so I'm going to put my phone down and soak in my last last moments here. To all my friends that I didn't get the chance to say goodbye to, I love you. I'm sorry I didn't see you before I left. But, this isn't goodbye. We all know I will be back soon so much of my heart remains here and always will.
I love you, Hawaii. Next stop, MIAMI
be present. wander. get lost. explore. dance in the moonlight. make love.
avoid small talk. embrace conversation. have a smart mouth, and quick wit. make art. create. swim in the ocean. swim in the rain. take chances, go on a limb. ask questions. make mistakes, learn from them.
know your worth. forgive quickly. love passionately. let go of what doesn't make you happy
We are very good at preparing to live, but not good at living. At being alive. Truly ALIVE.
We are willing to sacrifice over ten years for a diploma, and we are willing to work very hard to get a job, a car, a house, and so on. But at the end of the day, we lose track and get lost in the system of normality.
One of the biggest pieces of advice I ever received is to remember that we are alive in the present moment, this exact moment. The past has happened and can't be changed so don't dwell on it. Acknowledge it, learn from it. The future isn't guaranteed either, so don't stress too much about where you'll be in 5 years. Focus on now. This present moment is all we are really 'guaranteed'. This is our time to be alive, and it's important to do what makes you happy. Even if there are people against what you're working towards don't give up. This life is YOUR life and not there's. They don't know what you're capable of - and that's the beauty of this life. You're capable of anything, and of everything. So, this is me saying do not give up. I believe in you, and I know you believe in yourself. Don't let the present moment pass. We take advantage of the days we are given because they become so habitual.. so regular that we start to think of each day as a given.
I haven't shared aspects of my spiritual or motivational mind on my page in a while - but opening up like this feels so beautiful. So I'm going to do it more. Life is short people! Express yourself, work hard, and live each moment (clichés aside) like it is your last. Because let's be honest here, we don't know when our 'time' is.
So untie those wings, baby, let's live
