Guys! I really appreciate the detailed responses many of you shared about us sharing moments vs. formals. It means the world to hear how you feel about both and gives us insight on what we can share more of. Some moments I've been excited to share are these Todd captured during Feea and Matt's first look this summer. While I was capturing wide contextual shots, he was completely channeled in on their emotions.
Created some magic the other night on Antelope Island with these two! Brooke and Keaton were an absolute dream and so much fun to work with. All they wanted to do all night was run through fields of buffalo and be as close together as possible. I'm madly in love with these and can't wait to share many more.
Kind of crazy how we went from warm and sunny to 25° and snowy all within a day or so. This winter has kept things interesting and made me realize that if you want snow after weeks of tshirt weather, just tell me you want your photos to look as close to summer as we can get and it'll immediately start dumping on us.
Here's one of my favorites of my time with Annie and Josh. We hit a rare 20° day and you couldn't even tell. They were so close and happy together through the chilly weather.
Kissing in the middle of our little city without a care in the world. The last few days of shooting have felt incredible. Our couples this year are darling and so closely connected, and they're taking us to new places which is always inspiring. This weekend along with our time in Palm Springs really helped solidify how much we adore being photographers and why.
Spent yesterday evening exploring downtown Salt Lake with these cuties! They've never visited Paradise Palm so we popped in along the way to get out of the cold. I honestly had the best time exploring with them. Being able to set some destinations but ultimately wing it and go where we felt inspired to go kept things fun. Thanks you two! More to come.
We are curious to hear your thoughts! We've been photographing in a more documentary style and slowly moving away from creating those pretty editorial-esque portraits. It has us growing even more excited over creating and sharing sequences of moments, rather than that one mind blowing portrait. So my question to you is this: What strikes home more? What do you as someone who is a parent, engaged or married couple, or simply just a viewer. What do you enjoy most?
Happy love day everyone! Loved when these two started drawing hearts in the snow during their engagements. I know this day means different things for everyone, but I genuinely hope you're all having a nice day. Whether your loved ones are right next to you or thousands of miles away, please know that you are loved and cared for. Today is a nice reminder to spread love and care to all.
We spent the day shooting down in Joshua tree and it reminded us of when we came down with our friends Haley and Keaton for their anniversary. This time around we met with friends at some really rad ruins, worked with new vendors who went above and beyond and photographed some new friends who are amazing to be around. It's been a good time.
Over the years we've been fortunate to create a close friendship with the talented @nataliewynndesign. From spending a week driving the coast of California to shoot her gowns to working with her through @utahfashionweek, we've had some amazing experiences and truly love her gowns. Right now she has a sale and her sample gowns are 70% off. Many of you fawn over her gowns, this is the perfect chance to snag one.
We are spending the next few days finally visiting Palm Springs with some photographer friends! Ever since Todd and I worked on this stunning editorial with @fuseweddingsandevents for @utahbridemag we've been wanting to visit and work in the area, so it should be a lot of fun. Definitely looking forward to being inspired by new places and getting out in the sun for a but. Anything we need to see while there?
I love those moments where you can see and feel the day slowly begin to sink in. Emotions can be so different but one thing that stays the same is just how ready and comfortable every couple is. The emotions on wedding days are always so incredible to experience, it's this rollercoaster of happiness and positive feelings.
This warm weather we've had recently feels incredible. Who else is ready for the warmer months ahead? Bring on all the flowers and lush green mountains. For those wanting portraits in these pretty wildflowers whether it's bridals, engagements or families, keep some time open in July so you won't miss it.
Loved when these two hiked through this snowy trail with all their clothes piled high, constantly trying not to slip and laughing along the way. Christina and Jeremy are such kind and loving people and I genuinely had the best time photographing and being around them. Half of the time was probably spent talking and getting to know each other on a deeper level, and they even invited me along to dinner with them afterward with their friends. I'm pretty lucky to get to be around all you cuties and forming relationships with you is even better.
Hi friends! Thanks so much for all your kind birthday messages over the last couple days! I usually keep my birthday on the downlow but I'm not gonna lie, you all made me feel very cared for and it felt nice. Also, our spring and summer months are booking nicely! We are so thrilled for what's ahead. We are always booking and the biggest thing we care about is that you're in love. It's not too late to book us as your photographers if you're getting married soon.
Spent the first half of my twenty-fifth editing and meeting with some wonderful new clients, snagged the last few doughnuts from Big O and hung out at my friend @thelovelyave's studio. Now I'm unplugging for a well needed cozy night in with my love. Thanks to all who helped it be a low-key day and who sent words of love. It means the world. Hope you're all having a happy weekend!
The 2018 Utah Valley Bride has been released and these two are featured in the Real Weddings section, which is always my favorite! I really enjoy real wedding features, especially if it helps others gain some inspiration for their own celebration. Congrats you two, so fun you're story is shared!
We ended our year with Nick and Patricia's wedding and guys, it was amazing. It's a neat thing to think back to our couples and their celebrations and to remember just how loving the days were. Even more though, we always remember how they felt. Which may sound odd to put into words and try to convey, but love is a powerful thing and really has a way of overcoming your heart and fill the room. That's exactly what we felt with these two.
Hey all! We've been busy putting the final touches on our new website and it's finally coming along! We have loads of new content and more than anything we are looking forward to having a nice corner of the net to share your stories. Now we just have to go through the mountains of content and choose what to share first. If you need me I'll be blogging.
