The night was sad but the day was beautiful ❄️ Thank you for your kind words for last post. I appreciate them more than you’ll ever know ❤️ #grateful #support #bestnonpayingjobever

Last night 💔 Someone noticed her laying in the same area for four days. She’s lethargic, dehydrated and malnourished. A sickly Deer will usually have a tuft up coat. Her skin was hanging on her, I could see and feel the outline of every major bone, which I shouldn’t be able to see with a thick winter coat. Lack of nutrition caused some of her teeth to fall out. Unfortunately she has been in trouble for some time. I wanted to do everything I could to help her but in the end, the only way I could “save” her was helping her pass peacefully and with as much love as possible❤️ It never gets easier but knowing she’s not suffering or alone anymore....somewhat helps #bestnonpayingjobever #bittersweet #worthit

The fairest of them all 👑 Most popular questioned asked....Am I or can I keep Boo? No to both. My job as a rehabilitator is to care for sick, injuried or orphaned fawns, giving them a second chance. I try to share as much of the process as possible but rehabilitating a fawn is very involved. It’s hard to explain everything in a small caption/post. I am the ONLY caregiver, The fawns are not imprinted on humans and they never lose their natural instincts. I’m a volunteer licensed by NYS and have to follow the regulations or my license will be taken. It would be a lack of fairness/injustice if I were allowed to keep a wild deer in a pen for the rest of its life. Lastly there is no hunting permitted anywhere near me and there are no Whitetail Deer sanctuaries in NYS. Hope I answered all your questions 🙏😊 #bestnonpayingjobever #secondchance #lifeisbeautiful

So the Boo and Buddy romance has definitely been one sided up until now.....Watching them today I think Buddy may be slowly winning Boos heart❤️ His “moves” aren’t the smoothest but I haven’t seen Boo kick him away 😉 #loveisintheair #lovemylife #bestnonpayingjobever

Fuzzy Fawn Wildlife (@fuzzyfawn)

Boo is always so suspicious of anything out of place. I dropped my pan and she immediately started stomping her hoof, alerting the others. My little misunderstood Buddy didn’t seem to care, he was busy trying to eat snowflakes ❄️😙 #bestnonpayingjobever #lovemylife #fairytale

Happy Weekend, Boos getting ready for some dancing fun!!! Anyone in the Buffalo area that would like to donate a Christmas Tree 🎄either before Christmas or after when your done with it, I’d truly appreciate it! I like to keep the outside fawn pen as natural as possible. I’ve surrounded the fencing with Christmas trees in the past and it worked great. The deer like to lay outside put they need protection from the snow and wind. DM me if you’d like to help. #thankyou #bestnonpayingjobever #buffalo #christmastree

Miss Boo has been quite the flirt!! She’ll nudge with her head or give a little kick to Mocha and Buddy to get them chasing her. Poor Buddy is confused, he thought he had a new girlfriend and took a chance but she wasn’t having it😬😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Their communication at this age is hilarious to watch. I’m going to post full videos on my YouTube channel. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do 😉 #bestnonpayingjobever #tease #flirt #teenagers

Early #tbt Willy and Jake were the first two fawns in the new fawn house!!! Both were successfully rehabilitated and released in September at @noras.ark
I forget how small and fragile they are as newborns #myheart #lifeisbeautiful #secondchance #bestnonpayingjobever

All about my babies today. Did a little grocery shopping for greens, vegetables and fruit. Then spent the afternoon double checking the fawn house making sure it’s ready for a harsh Buffalo winter. Today was super windy, perfect day to see if the new outer shelter would hold up👍. Lastly I had to worm everybody and I didn’t want to give them a shot so I decided on a bottle!!! Oh my gosh... Mocha and Nugget are still crazy for the bottle and Boo waits patiently as usual 😉 I miss those bottle days ❤️ Unfortunately Little Buddy had to have a shot because he was older when I took him in and he never had a bottle, he wasn’t sure what was happening... THANK YOU so much for the donations over the weekend. You make my grocery bill easier to manage 🙏 #bestnonpayingjobever #thankyou #grateful

Good Morning! I had a little bit of this video in another post and many of you asked about the twins rescue story. They were newly born and somehow both ended up in a pool. They still had the birthing sac on them, which means Mom never cleaned them off after birth. After birth a mother will lick and eat the mucus sac off the fawn and the surrounding area of birth to protect from predators. After nursing the first time the mother will move and hide her babies. I’ll never know the reason why this hadn’t happened but the fawns needed attention quickly. The pool was just opened and filled with freezing cold water. After bringing them home, I was able to get their body temperature normal. After a full day of care I took them back to find Mom. It took awhile for Mom to accept them because she wasn’t able to bond with them. Her nursing instincts were full blown but she was confused and after several attempts of them trying to nurse, she accepted them and moved on! #happyending #bestnonpayingjobever #secondchance

The end of every November I have to send in my logs to the DEC with all the information for every deer/fawn I took in. I took in 78 fawns this season and with your kindness and generosity “WE” gave 53 fawns a second chance!!! The fawns that didn’t make it, we helped them pass comfortably and loved ❤️🙏 I appreciate each and every one of you more than I can express. THANK YOU #bestnonpayingjobever #thankyou #secondchance

Boo has become an internet Superstar!! I’m finding her beautiful face everywhere, one person called her a goat 🐐😂 #bestnonpayingjobever #piebald #goat

Fuzzy Fawn Wildlife (@fuzzyfawn)

Little Buddy getting brave! I still can’t touch him but he’s more curious about me now. Sorry my Live Story was short but it was getting dark quickly. Have to try again in the daylight 😊 #bestnonpayingjobever #secondchance #lovemylife

Fuzzy Fawn Wildlife (@fuzzyfawn)

Going through photos and came across Mocha the day I picked him up, about 24 hours old. He had the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen on a fawn. Still just as beautiful today! I love all my fawns but Mocha will be the hardest to let go 😕 #bestnonpayingjobever #secondchance #bittersweet

I try to answer everyone’s questions and apologize if I miss one. My most frequently asked questions are about Boo. Quick summary... I can not keep her, she has to be released or I will lose my NYS Wildlife Rehabilitation License. I have to follow regulations. There are no Whitetail Deer Sanctuaries in NYS for Boo to live. I’m going to release Boo, Mocha, Nugget and Buddy together at my place. I have permission to keep them until May because they were late drop fawns instead of September 15, when all the other fawns were released. There is absolutely no hunting allowed anywhere near me for miles. Lastly, Boo’s leg is 100% perfect!! Hope I covered all your questions 😉 Christmas gift reminder, I have 40 Calendars left 🎁 Etsy link is in my profile #bestnonpayingjobever #secondchance #thankyou

Fuzzy Fawn Wildlife (@fuzzyfawn)

We did it again!!! With your donations and calendar sales together we gave another Deer a second chance! Girly was released earlier this morning 🙏❤️ with good vision and a full belly! THANK YOU always for your support and generosity!! #bestnonpayingjobever #secondchance #runfree

Can we all show some Boo Love for @noras.ark .... Most of you know Nora’s Ark and I work together rehabilitating fawns. Kate my good friend and founder of Nora’s Ark is needing our help. All the pens need new fencing and the outdoor shelters are in need of new roofing and flooring. Kate rehabilitates Wildlife but she also has many rescued farm animals that live permanently at Nora’s Ark. I had a crazy idea... if everyone who likes this video of Boo showing Love donated $1.00, I bet we could help Kate reach her goal... what do you think? You can help by going to @noras.ark and clicking her gofundme link❤️ #bestnonpayingjobever #volunteer #secondchance

Fuzzy Fawn Wildlife (@fuzzyfawn)

After a Deer call this morning my coat had that deers scent all over it. Nugget did not like that one bit. My new scent definitely confused her all day. Every time I went in the pen she tried sparring with me 😁 Mocha’s looking at her like, what the heck it’s just Mom 😉#bestnonpayingjobever #neveradullmoment #volunteerlife
