REVIEW • It’s been over a month since I started using #theordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% so here’s my quick review on it.

Vitamin C is an antioxidant known for its ability to help brighten the skin and reverse signs of aging. It also helps with discoloration. This formulation from @deciem is a water-free, silicone-free stable suspension.

Like the Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% which I reviewed over a month ago, this comes in a 30ml squeezable tube packaging. The product itself is opaque, white and quite runny. It has a texture similar to a light lotion but with a powdery feel. The texture is a bit gritty and takes some getting used to.

When I started using this, (and I will be honest), it hurt like hell. My skin is used to acids but it was not prepared for this. For the first few uses, it was tingly for about 5 minutes. It goes on greasy and powdery -- such an odd combination of textures. It also takes a while to absorb into the skin. To put it simply, it feels awkward on the face.

Like I said, I've been using this for more than a month and it still stings/tingles every time I use it. The stinging usually stops after a while or when I apply my next layer of skincare.

It’s not an easy product to work with because of the texture and stinging sensation. With that, I prefer to use this mainly as part of my evening routines, about 2-3x a week. I do not use this every night because I alternate between retinols and other acids as well.

What I do to lessen the stinging is to apply The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 prior to applying this product. I also learned to control how much I apply on my face.

Now I’ve LOVED everything that I’ve been using from the brand but this is one product that's receiving less love from me. I really wish I could use this consistently because it works. And while it did have brightening effects, I probably would not repurchase this anytime soon. I feel that this product works but the texture and stinging takes away the fun out of my skincare routine (which is a big deal for me).

I still/will forever love The Ordinary though and have some more products to try. ♥️ What's your fave Vit. C product?

Tried this Mung Beans and Licorice Purifying Mask Sheet from @lovemoreofficial last week(?). I honestly can't remember when. Mung beans and licorice - such an odd combination of ingredients, right?

I've previously reviewed the brand's Wine Yeast mask (which I loved!) and this one is pretty much the same in terms of look and feel. The mask is sandwiched between two layers - a white backing and a blue backing.

Material is 100% silk with a clear, watery essence. It is thin, soft and comfortable to wear. This mask is so thin that it dried out faster than what I'm used to. Similar to the Wine Yeast mask, the fit was great except for the slit-like mouth "hole". Adherence was great as well.

This mask was nicely hydrating and cooling on the skin. I noticed a bit of a brightening and my skin looked clear after using this. This didn't do much for my redness though, so I guess I prefer the Wine Yeast variant over this one for that reason alone.

This is the second mask that I've tried from the brand and I'm dying to try the Pearl Barley one next. Which Lovemore mask is your fave?

REVIEW • My skin has a tendency to get dry patches on the cheek area so hydrating products are always welcome in my routines. Lately, I find myself reaching for my #theordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 a lot as my skin has been getting some of those pesky dry patches (no thanks to the crazy weather we’re having and my poor eating/sleeping habits).

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is a water based serum that aims to hydrate the skin for a smoother, plumper, younger and healthier look. Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1000x its weight in water which makes it amazing for hydration. It acts as a humectant and helps draw in moisture to the skin.

The product is clear and consistency is a cross between gel-like and watery. It is very lightweight and cooling. It feels slightly tacky when applied but settles quickly and is absorbed instantly. This leaves a very very thin film-like residue that disappears quickly.

I can say that each time I use this in my routine, my skin feels much smoother, hydrated and sort of bouncier. I feel that this gives my skin a much needed immediate boost of hydration. My skin feels and looks smooth, firm and plump.

I like using this as part of my morning routine because I mostly use my @niod MMHC for hydration at night.

It’s already amazing on its own but when used with other products, it gets better. It helps your skin ‘drink’ the products up so you get the maximum benefits. This layers well with the other products that I use (whether skincare or makeup) and I've never encountered any pilling with this.

When people ask me for The Ordinary product recommendations, this is always in my top 3. I believe that all skin types will benefit from this especially those with dry/dehydrated skin.

Will definitely repurchase. ♥️

Quick review on last night's mask: the @myscheming.ph 7-In-1 Brightening Essence Black Mask. My Scheming masks are quickly becoming some of my fave masks. I recently got a bunch from their sale so I could try more variants. (Check my IG stories to see which ones I got! 👆🏼I just wish I got more of this particular variant coz it's really great!)

This fit so well and adhered really nicely on the skin. The mask was generously soaked in clear, watery essence which was held nicely by the mask itself. It felt very refreshing and comfortable to wear. No tingling, no stinging whatsoever.

There was a very noticeable brightening effect right after I removed the mask (and this morning as well)! I loved the result on my skin and would definitely repurchase this! 🖤

REVIEW • I never really enjoyed sleeping packs before but this product has changed my mind. Now I almost always use this as the last step of my PM routines.

Now it's no secret that honey and propolis are some of my favorite ingredients in skincare products and the @cosrx Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask is no exception. (There's actually no honey in the ingredients list so it's kind of confusing. 🙃)

This mask is enriched with 85% propolis extract and contains natural beeswax to moisturize, soothe and hydrate.

It is translucent yellow and has a gel-like texture that is very light. The scent is refreshing and not over the top. In fact, it has a faint (almost undetectable) sweet smell. It is light and very easy to apply. It doesn't absorb fast but it's not too tacky either. It is also very cooling and soothing on the skin.

I wake up with soft, supple and hydrated skin every time. I feel that ending my evening routines with this product has made such a difference in how glowy my skin is in the morning.

As the name implies, this is meant to be an overnight/sleeping pack. But CosRx also markets this as a daytime moisturizer and a wash-off mask. I've yet to try it during the day though but I can imagine this being a staple on hot summer days.

I really love and enjoy using this mask and I'm planning on repurchasing when I run out. What's your favorite sleeping pack? ☾

Last night's sheet mask was this Pearl Essence Mask Sheet from @esfolio_philippines. Such cute packaging, right? This mask claims to be formulated with fresh pearl extracts that help make the skin bright and moist.

The material is a soft, thick cotton/cellulose and the fit was decent. It was generously soaked in clear and runny essence. I can't quite describe the scent but it was a bit perfume-y.

My skin felt fairly moisturized after removing the mask but the brightening effect was barely noticeable initially. This morning, I woke up with a more even skin tone and the brightening was slightly more evident. ✨

Overall, I think this mask did what it claimed to do so I'm pretty happy about it. Have you tried any masks from the brand?

Used this Wine Yeast Whitening Mask Sheet from Taiwanese brand @lovemoreofficial the other night and I enjoyed it.

The mask is packaged between two layers - a white backing and a blue backing. I removed the white backing first and placed the mask on my face. After that, I removed the blue backing, adjusted the mask accordingly and left it on for about 30 minutes.

The material is made of 100% silk. It's incredibly thin, soft and very comfortable. It's one of the thinnest masks that I've tried. The fit was great except that the mouth hole was literally just a slit. It felt like second skin and adhered like a dream. It was super comfortable but the upper lip area dried out faster than the rest of the mask.

The essence was clear, runny and very light. It had this mix of sake and a yogurt-y smell. My nose was confused.

This mask felt refreshing to use. It reduced my redness and made my skin moisturized and smooth. The brightening effect was barely noticeable though but overall, I really enjoyed the whole masking experience with this one.

This is the first Lovemore mask that I've tried and I can say that this definitely won't be the last. These sheet masks from Taiwan continue to impress me!

I want to try the other variants! What's your favorite Lovemore mask? ♥️

Posted about these goodies that I received from @bentoncosmetic the other night on my IG stories. I've never tried any of these and I'm looking forward to incorporating these into my routines!

▫️ Snail Bee High Content Essence - I'm excited about this one the most! I've been wanting to try this because my skin loves the Snail Bee High Content Sheet Mask. Will open this once I finish my Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence.

▫️ Honest TT Mist - I've read good reviews about this mist! I love how travel friendly this looks. This is going in my work bag for sure!

▫️ Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel - I honestly don't know where/how this will go into my routine but I imagine this will come in handy during the summer months or when my skin is acting up.

What are your thoughts on these products? Any tips on using them?

Ginel (@ginelfaustino)

I've been extra tired from work and other stuff (aka life) in general the past couple of days, so I really made sure to have some pamper time last night. Decided to add this @paparecipe_official Bombee Ginseng Red Honey Oil Mask Pack in last night's routine so here's my review!

The mask was soaked in a generous amount of clear, watery essence. It had this mixture of honey and an earthy ginseng scent which I surprisingly liked! I imagined it would smell pungent and I'm glad it didn't. It smelled like strong herbal honey (if that makes any sense), instead.

The material is a bit thicker than usual but the fit was similar to the other variants. There was no paper backing but I found the mask easy to unfold. It had some small brown and white bits in the mask which got me scared so I looked it up real quick if those were supposed to be there (swipe for photo!). Turns out, the brown and white bits (which I'm guessing were ginseng bits?) were meant to be there and the material they used was "Korean mulberry fabric".

The mask felt a bit heavier than usual but was still comfortable on the face. It felt cooling and just a little bit tingly when worn. This left my skin moisturized, more even toned and glowy! Also, my cheeks aren't as red as usual this morning.

Would use this again! ♥️ Papa Recipe never fails and I'll always be a fan. I hope they release more variants.
