Been using my Hada Labo Gokujyun during my hospital duties when I can't bring my entire PM routine for fear of it being stolen/broken or whatever. This is a clear, scent-free "lotion" that's a wee bit thicker than water. It starts off a little sticky but absorbs quickly and does a good job in prepping the skin for the next layers of skincare. I use this as an essence after cleansing and toning. Sometimes I skip the toner and go straight to 2 layers of this. I can't really say how this is affecting my skin since I only get to use this every 4 nights/4 mornings when I go on a 24-hour hospital shift. I do like that whenever I get to use this, my skin is hydrated and really soft and plump. However, I also noticed that I sometimes get a few tiny bumps on my cheek area after I use this. Will have to observe if this is the culprit.
Back from my 3-day weekend in HK. Just posting some snaps from Disneyland coz I didn't do anything aside from the usual (shopping and eating lol). This place never gets old. I feel like a kid every time I'm here. A very tired kid at that.
Tried this mask from @innisfreeofficial Skin Clinic Mask in Madecassoside last night. This is the first mask from this range that I've tried. I had no idea what madecassoside was but it promised to soothe and strengthen the skin's barrier and I felt that my skin needed that. The mask is made of very thin 100% natural cotton wool and is dripping with a light-scented essence. The mask sits comfortably on the face and is cooling and soothing as intended. My skin was very hydrated and moisturized after. There are other variants in this range, namely: BHA to improve texture, Catechin for skin tone and wrinkle concerns, Collagen to rejuvenate and firm the skin, Hyaluronic Acid for moisture and hydration, Peptide to reduce signs of aging and Vita C for brightening. Can't wait to try the rest! Have you tried this range?
Received some goodies from Rucy's Vanity-- a Korean cosmetic brand that offers high quality cosmetics at an extremely reasonable price point for Filipinas. I'm especially excited to try the mascara and the lip & cheek tint! Thank you, @rucysvanityph for letting me try your products! Will post swatches/reviews soon.
So many products, so little time (and just one face)! Planning on slowly incorporating these serums from @deciem The Ordinary to my AM and PM routines. I have these and a bunch of unopened stuff from NIOD, Cosrx and E Nature that are waiting to be tested. It's been so hard not opening them all at once. // Anyway, I'll be using the Niacinamide in the AM and the Advanced Retinoid and Hyaluronic Acid on alternating evenings. Any tips on using these would be great! Thank you!
From yesterday's wedding in Tagaytay. Congrats Gio and Jelene! Had a wonderful weekend with some of my fave people (until my back decided to hurt like hell and ruin the fun). Also, did my own updo and makeup in an hour. Swipe left for more photos! #RxIDo
My everyday base is a mixture of @lauramercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude and @glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in Medium applied using a @beautyblender Pro. I almost always go for a light coverage for daily use, especially for work. I like it when my skin can breathe.
Been using some of my Lululun sheetmasks that my parents got for me during their trip to Japan last month. I've tried the pink (balance moisture) and the purple/blue (rich moisture) variants before. This one is the silver or brightening variant. It contains 7 sheets inside and is intended to be used every day for a week. Scent is nondescript -- nothing offensive or anything. Fit isn't as great as some of the Korean masks that I've tried. The masks also don't have a lot of essence as that of the individually packed ones. Also, the mask is rather thin which makes it tricky to use and you need to be careful so you won't tear a part of it off. I like that it has a ziplock thingy and I find that it gives the usual hydration that sheet masks give. To be fair, I've only used this variant on 3 consecutive nights so I have yet to see any brightening effect. Will finish this pack but it's not wow enough for me to repurchase anytime soon.
My @deciem goodies FINALLY arrived after a long almost-3 months wait (and a series of email/DM exchanges). Ordered these during their Black Friday sale and several mishaps occurred but their amazing team/customer service came through and sent me a new package. This is my first time delving into the brand. I've been hearing mixed reviews on these but I'm honestly super excited! This is the NIOD set which includes: Sanskrit Saponins (SS), Copper Amino Isolate Serum (CAIS), Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex (MMHC) and Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist (SDSM). Whew. I got some The Ordinary products as well. Just swipe left or take a peek of everything I got in my IG stories! ☝🏼️ // Any tips on how I can incorporate these to my routine would be appreciated! Thank you again to the @deciem team!
I was tagged by the lovely Marissa (@beautyandthemountains) to share #meandmyskincarestory that was started by @skincare_soul. Thank you so much for tagging me, I had fun answering!
Growing up, I never had any problems with pimples and blemishes. I have normal-dry skin so I washed my face with just water and thought that was ok. Eventually, I started using a whitening soap which dried my skin out. Back then, I've always loved makeup but I noticed how annoying it was when applying it on certain areas of my face which had dry patches. I started reading a lot on how I could take care of my skin in order to have a better canvas for makeup. But now that I've prioritized my skincare, sometimes I don't feel the need to use as much makeup as before.
Favorite step would have to be serums/oils!
Favorite ingredients are honey, snail and acids (hyaluronic, glycolic, etc!). ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
I am DYING to get my hands on @jordansamuelskin and @whamisaskincare products.
Probably anything extraordinarily out of budget. You don't need the most expensive products all the time. As long as it works for you and you enjoy using it.
I wish I started taking care of my skin early on.
Not really a trick but a good exfoliation (1-2x a week) will do wonders for the skin's texture and tone. So don't ignore this step.
This is so hard. Right now it would probably be the @cosrx Advanced Snail Mucin Power Essence, @la_bellelune Organic Skin and @indie_lee CoQ-10 Toner.
The entire #skincarecommunity is definitely my inspiration. You guys are the best influencers/enablers/support group ever.
During the #januaryskinchallenge I said that my goals were to drink lots of water and to use up the skincare stuff I currently have & try to build a more solid "core" to my routine before buying new products. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
Tagging my girls @antiagingamber, @gemeliza, @neighha, @mangolikesilk, @ameliaasays, @chyism, @laylawednesday, @skincaremadness, @yogisnails, @kimchiandsnails. Apologies if you've been tagged already.
Tried this @innisfreeofficial It's Real Squeeze Mask in Black Berry last night before going to bed. This mask didn't have any brightening or moisturizing claims so I didn't really have high expectations for this one. Fit was great on me, as usual. Now, I like my essences clear/watery and this one had the milky lotion type (just like the Shea Butter one, which I surprisingly liked). It had a decent amount of fruity/berry, perfumey essence in it. It was also stickier (after removing) than the other sheet masks from this line. My skin felt soft and supple after using this. Nothing new or groundbreaking so overall, this was just ok for me. Not necessarily hoard/HG material but I wouldn't mind using it again.
