Day 17 of #JanuarySkinChallenge is Fave Type of Product. It was a toss up between masks and serums/oils! Obviously, I picked serums/oils. I love them and enjoy putting them on my face! I'm waiting to add 4 more to this stash as soon as my (extremely delayed) orders from Deciem arrive.
Last night's sheet mask. I think I have a thing against aloe in sheet masks. I know aloe is good for the skin but I just can't seem to like them. I've used this before and I thought it was just an ok mask. It's cooling and calming but overall, just ok. I decided to give it another try, but yup, it's still the same. It's not bad, but its not my fave variant either. // Also using this as an entry for #JanuarySkinChallenge Day 16 even if it has nothing to do with the photo. Day 16 is Skin Tip and my favorite skin tip is the same as my answer to the day 1 challenge. Hydrate, hydrate and hydrate! Can't say this enough but drinking plenty of water really helps the skin in so many ways.
Another #JanuarySkinChallenge catch-up post. Days 14 and 15 this time. // ⠀⠀
Day 14 - Regret. My only regret would be not taking better care of my skin earlier on. I didn't really have much problems with my skin back then except for dry patches and red areas so my skincare consisted of facial soap (yikes!) + water and sometimes, moisturizer. I only started being conscious and religious with my skincare in my late 20s. ⠀⠀
Day 15 - Packaging. I'm a sucker for pretty packaging! I know packaging shouldn't be much of an issue but I love it when a product is both beautiful inside and out! I find that I tend to gravitate towards products that come in black/dark-colored bottles/jars.
(Still) Playing catch up with the #JanuarySkinChallenge. Day 13 is Travel! I usually bring my full-sized skincare stuff when I travel and just add a couple sample packs (of stuff that I've tried before coz I don't wanna risk breaking out in a foreign land). I usually bring the basics which include: cleanser, toner, essence, serum, day moisturizer and night moisturizer. However, I never travel without putting these 3 in my hand carry -- SPF, @odacite serum for an instant boost of hydration, and lots of sheet masks!
Still catching up on the #JanuarySkinChallenge now that I'm done with my case presentation so I'm combining my entries for days 11 and 12. // ⠀⠀
Day 11 - Initial bad impression goes to the @skii Facial Treatment Essence. This was really expensive and smelled awful. It felt like putting on vinegar on your face so it wasn't enjoyable and I thought that it didn't do anything. It's a good thing that I stick to my 2-week test rule for new products because this did wonders on my skin's texture and saved my skin from dryness post-travel. ⠀⠀
Day 12 - Product you'll use forever goes to my @cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. I love this! Lightweight, soothing and moisturizing. Can't believe a product could be so simple and fuss-free and yet so effective. I use this daily, AM and PM and I can't imagine any routine without this product.
When you have so much stuff to do... // I can't wait 'til I'm done with my paperworks, case presentation and other work related stuff. I'm also really behind on the January Skin Challenge so I can't wait to catch up with that as well.
Still trying to catch up on the #JanuarySkinChallenge. Day 10 is cold weather. It doesn't get particularly cold in the Philippines. We only have two seasons -- summer and rainy. But when my skin feels tight and dry due to "cold" weather, I usually reach for these: @odacite Po+R on the face for instant hydration, @aesopskincare Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm for my hands, and my HG lip balm, @hurrawbalm Moon Balm! // Notable mentions: lots of hydrating sheet masks, moisturizers and plenty of water!
This is my favorite variant from @innisfreeofficial's It's Real Squeeze Mask line. I love Manuka Honey as part of skincare. It has skin clearing, anti-aging and moisturizing properties so it's no surprise that this is my favorite of the bunch. This one smells sweet but not the annoying kind of sweet. Despite being a honey product, this mask is not sticky at all. This is my go-to mask to rescue my face when I have dry patches or dullness or when I just want to relax and feel good. It moisturizes my skin well and the effect lasts for a couple of days. Last time I used this was just two days ago. I always have backups of this mask and I feel uncomfortable when my stash runs low. This is a forever repurchase for me. // Also, I haven't gotten around into opening the Papa Recipe Bombee Rose Gold Honey Mask box I got from HK but I've been seeing the original one a lot on my feed so I'm really looking forward to using it soon. Is that variant as good as the original one?
Wasn't feeling good yesterday but a bit better now so I'm catching up on the #JanuarySkinChallenge. For day 9, we have body products. I picked the @aesopskincare Geranium Leaf Body Balm as it is one of my faves and I've gone through several tubes of this. I love how it smells. It doesn't contain any alcohol but does feature some pretty nice oils such as macadamia oil and almond oil. I usually stay away from too fragrant products for my body but this scent is just lovely. It's a bit thicker than your average lotion but would not leave you feeling sticky nor greasy (Not advisable to use during summertime though). My skin feels soft and nourished every time. Of course I love the packaging. It's part of the reason why I fell in love with the brand in the first place. I don't use this everyday coz I think it's too expensive to be a daily body lotion. Lol. For daily use, my favorite right now is the Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Lotion (such a long name ). It moisturizes well, is non-greasy, available locally, and doesn't hurt my wallet! //
Late post for #JanuarySkinChallenge (sorry!). Day 8 is all about 'Glow'! I believe that a good/proper exfoliation will always give one's skin a nice glow. And what better product to do that than the ever-reliable @pixibeauty Glow Tonic and Peel Pads! This isn't cult for nothing. It really works! // Other faves: Odacité Pa+G, La Belle Lune Organic Skin, Glossier Super Glow, and Sunday Riley Luna + Good Genes!
Catching up on Day 7 of #JanuarySkinChallenge - Top 3 Deserted Island. This was so hard! I don't wanna go to a deserted island with only three products! I'm bringing these along with me and pray that I only get stuck there for a couple of days. // @cosrx Good Morning Low pH Cleanser, @sundayriley Luna, and of course, @bioreph UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50++
Day 6 of #JanuarySkinChallenge is Green Beauty. I've heard so many nice things about the @la_bellelune Organic Skin. Picked this up last week and started using right away. La Belle Lune is a night-time oil. It is meant to be an overnight treatment of sorts which does its magic while you sleep since this is the time that your body repairs itself. I can't help but be smitten by the packaging alone. It's so pretty!!! I noticed a nice glow, plumpness the morning after first use. And just three nights into using it, my face was noticeably brighter. Been using this for a week now and I can already say that this will definitely be a staple in my night routine and I don't think I want to be without it. It is very fragrant and the scent is pretty strong for me, but nothing too noxious or anything. It also didn't irritate my skin in any way. // I only have a few 'Green Beauty' products right now (most of them waiting to be opened) but it's definitely something I'd want to explore/discover more for this year.
Decided to combine days 4 and 5 of #JanuarySkinChallenge since about 99% of my skincare products are international (Day 4) anyway. This is my favorite AM routine (Day 5). // @cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (Korea) @freshbeauty Rose Face Mask (US) - I don't do this everyday but I like it when I am able to mask in the mornings.⠀
Cosrx AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner (Korea)⠀⠀ @caudalie Beauty Elixir (France)⠀⠀
Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (Korea)⠀
Serum (changes depending on my skin's needs so I didn't include any for now)⠀ @glossier Priming Moisturizer (USA)⠀⠀
Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF (Japan)⠀ @hurrawbalm Lip Balm with SPF (USA)⠀ @aesopskincare Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm (Australia)
Brought this mask with me to HK last week and used it on my second night there. This mask felt so cool and refreshing. I got a couple of dry patches on my face due to the cold weather there but this mask helped bring back moisture to my skin. It had the slightest scent of cucumber which was so light and pleasant and I had such a relaxed time while this was on my face (about 30 mins). My skin had this nice glow the following day as well. Overall, I'm really happy I brought this mask along with me.
A bit late with Day 3 of the #JanuarySkinChallenge coz I was on duty last night but here's my entry for fave #multitasker. I had a hard time with this one. I love my facial sprays/mists and my balms but I decided to give this one to the amazing (and expensive!) @sundayriley Luna Oil. This little gem brightens and evens skin tone and texture, prevents signs of aging, helps clear blemishes, reduces appearance of pores and moisturizes dry/dull skin. It also helps in controlling breakouts and in reducing some of my redness. I will definitely cry when this runs out. // Runners-up: Mario Badescu Facial Spray, Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse and Glossier Balmdotcom
Day 2 of the #JanuarySkinChallenge is masks. I love masks in any form so I had a hard time narrowing it down. One of my favorite moments of 2016 was winning goodies from @odacite, which led me to discover how amazing the brand is. I've already raved about this mask a lot of times and I'll gladly do so again. This is the Synergie Immediate Skin Perfecting Beauty Masque - created with four "synergies" that aim to detox, peel, brighten and firm the skin. I always enjoy using this product and seeing its effects on my skin. // Runners-up: Origins Active Charcoal Mask and of course, sheet masks!!!
