Waiting for 2018 like....I’m ready.
Let me know something that you accomplished this year that made you proud?
It has been one hell of a year filled with so many amazing personal accomplishments, silent struggles, holy sh*t moments, travel, life changing experiences & all of the tiny pieces that makes every moment irreplaceable. I finally invested some much needed time into working on myself... which has been truly liberating. Letting go of past hurts and pushing myself beyond my comfort zone was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But I’m getting there. I am so blessed to live this life & to be able to connect with people from every corner of this earth. This year I hit 1 Million followers, was featured in a press package with MUFE, was in Sephora with Tarte & had a storefront window display with NYX. Yesss, I died like 10 times this year . But I could not have done it without you guys. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. You guys changed my life and I will forever be grateful. So here’s a Cheers to 2018 and all of you! May we all keep pushing, keep grinding and may we never give up on what sets our souls on fire. Love you guys & be safe tonight. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! #2018whatsgood#happynewyear#throwbackpic#currentlyinpjs
When your friends win...you win . SCREAMING congratulations one of my very best friends @patrickstarrr on his fabulous collaboration with Mac Cosmetics. You have always had a beautiful spirit that has touched those close to you, but as Patrick continues to flourish more people are lifted up by your words and inspired by your story. I have seen you bust your ass day in and day out to achieve your dreams & in turn elevating the game. No one deserves it more and I’m so happy to have this special moment to cherish. Keep shining boo and keep em guessing! You did it #MACpatrickstarrr#proudfriendmoment
February 2016 vs. October 2017
Your hair is your crown. So what happens when you are faced with a challenge that alters or even tries to ruin your crown? Depression, sadness, and regret are all emotions you can encounter. Scrutiny is often times expected when you choose to embrace something that doesn’t fit the standard. But through self acceptance I learned to love the hair I was born with. A few years ago, the world started to change. Women and men from all walks of life started embracing their natural hair & it was becoming more mainstream. Right in the middle of that beautiful movement, someone I trusted mistreated my hair, damaging it from root to tip and I had no choice but to cut it all off and start over. I wore clip ins, avoided rear facing lights & went to extreme lengths to hide how bad it was. I was heartbroken and it took a massive toll on my self esteem. Eventually I made peace with my pain & focused on protective styling, maintenance and ALOT of patience. I’m finally starting to get that old thing back and feeling like me again. It was a really shitty time, but like everything in life it gets better and one day you will look back on your struggles and realize how badass you really are because you made it through another one of life’s unfortunate events. Readjust your crowns and keep pushing my loves. Your breakthrough is coming
