On this day, a lot of us end up thinking about romantic relationships, either being grateful for the ones we are in, reminiscing about the ones we were in or dreaming about the ones we want to be in.
Personally, I am grateful for the one I am in - a relationship with myself. I promised myself when this year began that I will use this year to practice Self- love. To learn to respect myself and value myself, do all the things that I expect from a partner. The lessons over the last year were that I was giving away my power when I expected this from other people, so this year I choose to focus on my growth.
Recently- I have been worrying about living and working in a new country, and how that will turn out. I was dumping my worry on to other people who are here to look out for me, and their responses to calm down didn’t help at all. But then it dawned on me- I had forgotten my new year promise to myself. To focus on me and just be. To just let go and flow.
So, I hope that this Valentine’s Day is filled with true love for you all - be it with your partner, your friends, your family or even just yourself. And may you always, always laugh.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Me being completely awkward and thrown off guard because of how unexpectedly cold the water is. And this is before I got hit in the face by a speeding tennis ball by inconsiderate men, who broke my beautiful @parkvilleshop sunglasses, and left me with two cuts next to my eye.
It’s shocking to experience that only one of them came back to apologise for damaging my face, AFTER Michele went and asked him to. Such ill-mannered men, and they all were over 40 at least. And the girls procured Ice for me out of nowhere.
Grateful that I am not blinded or hurt more.
That was my adventurous day at the beach. How was your day? #beachbum#beachday#accident#capetown#learnsomemanners#theoldergenerationisnotalwaysbetter#southafricanadventure#clifton#beach#bikini
