Is Lake Clark be the best National Park in America? Read more in my new blog post (link in bio)! The @drinkevolve National Parks Road Trip is flying by! We are already at park 47/59 and there are only 6 weeks remaining! Thanks again for following along on this crazy journey
Nature ignites the senses & the soul. Feeling the spray of a waterfall, the fresh ocean breeze, sunshine on your face & the grass beneath your feet. Hearing the wind howling through a canyon, birds awakening at dawn & wolves howling in distant valleys. Smelling a pine forest after rainfall, the saltiness of the sea & a lush meadow in the height of spring. Seeing towering mountain peaks, animals being wild & sand dunes being shaped by the wind. Nature will always be my happy place
Back in May, the @drinkevolve National Parks Road Trip took us to the beautiful island of St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Our aim was to visit Virgin Islands National Park & explore the culture of the island. We fell in love with the vibrant waters, lush foliage, amazing wildlife, delicious food & kind people of St. John. It breaks my heart to hear of the intense damage Hurricane Irma has caused on St. John & many other islands in the Caribbean, as well as to parts of the southeast of mainland America. On St. John there are still locals missing, people & animals injured, limited safe shelters, & there is not currently enough safe drinking water or food to go around. The non-profit organization St. John Rescue Inc. is doing a brilliant job getting help to those in need & aiding the recovery process. Please consider donating to the cause if you are able to (link in my bio)
I am so grateful to have spent more time out hiking & camping this summer than I have spent indoors. My @KEEN Terradora's have literally traveled everywhere with me - across Alaskan glaciers, up PNW mountain passes, along sandy beaches in the USVI, and through city stops along the way #TrailFit#ad
I just returned from 4 days of backpacking in the Enchantments. It was so much fun getting off the grid with bunch of friends, camping, hiking & having many laughs. This photo is from our second day of hiking, after we climbed Asgard Pass and made it into the 'core section'. Wildfires in the Cascades had resulted in smokey conditions & crazy golden light despite being midday. It was a bizarre experience seeing the sky appear on fire like that (more photos to come!) Stay safe out there everyone & enjoy the weekend
The past 5 weeks exploring Alaska have been an absolute dream. We visited 8 National Parks, flown in 25 planes (16 of which were tiny bush or float planes), driven 1000+ miles, taken 2 boat trips, walked on a glacier, camped for weeks in the wilderness, trekked through tundra, stood below towering peaks, and witnessed the most incredible wildlife. I will always remember this crazy section of the @drinkevolve National Park's Road Trip
This image was captured a couple of days back on a flight seeing tour with @talkeetnaair. It was breathtaking to witness Denali National Park from the air
Travel has a funny way of putting things into perspective. Last week when I was sitting in a wet tent, cold, exhausted and feeling down, I realized just how lucky I was to have shelter, food, warm clothes, and the incredible privilege of being able to get out in the backcountry. So I told myself to stop moping and have another hot chocolate
Throwback photo to a previous trip to Yosemite National Park. I can't wait to get back there next month and explore some more!
Lake Clark was probably the highlight of the @drinkevolve National Parks Road Trip thus far (park 35/49). We had the most incredible weather during our stay on Upper Twin Lake, allowing us to truly explore the area. Does it get any better than a morning paddle on a turquoise backcountry lake?!
I just returned from 11 days off the grid, with 9 of those spent in one of the most wild places I have visited - Gates of the Arctic National Park. We hiked, rafted, fell over, laughed, crossed freezing rivers, saw some awesomely scary wildlife, ate way too many freeze dried meals, and had one heck of a time. As I had predicted, it was the most physically challenging trek I've done to date, and one I am proud to have accomplished. I can't wait to share more with you guys! The next stop on our @drinkevolve National Parks Road Trip is Denali, number 40/59! Can you believe we only have 19 more to go?!
